Abstract

Advantageously, the system can process soil samples in “as collected” condition without drying or grinding. The overall system includes a sample preparation subsystem that receives soil samples collected by a borehole collection subsystem and produces a slurry (e.g., mixture of soil, vegetation, and/or compost and water), and a subsystem chemical analysis system that processes prepared slurry samples to quantify multiple analytes and/or chemical properties of the sample. The preparation subsystem may comprise a slurry flow recirculation loop configured with devices for agitating, measuring and adjusting a water to solids ratio of the slurry.
