Abstract
La invención se relaciona con el campo de la ingeniería genética en plantas. Reivindicación 1: Una mutante de HPPD o un fragmento funcional de la misma, que tiene una mutación de aminoácidos tal como una sustitución de aminoácidos en una o más posiciones seleccionadas de la posición 417, 365, 378, 414, 415, ó 419 comparada con la HPPD de tipo salvaje, refiriéndose la posición de aminoácidos a la SEQ ID Nº 1. Reivindicación 9: Un ácido nucleico que comprende una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica la mutante de HPPD o un fragmento funcional de la misma de una cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 - 8. Reivindicación 10: Un casete de expresión que comprende una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica la mutante de HPPD o un fragmento funcional de la misma de una cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 - 8 operativamente ligada a una secuencia reguladora. Reivindicación 11: Un constructo de expresión que comprende el casete de expresión de la reivindicación 10. Reivindicación 12: Un método para producir una planta resistente a herbicidas mediante transgén, que comprende introducir el ácido nucleico de la reivindicación 9, el casete de expresión de la reivindicación 10 y/o el constructo de expresión de la reivindicación 11 en la planta. Reivindicación 13: Un método para producir plantas resistentes a herbicidas, el método que comprende la modificación dirigida de la secuencia codificante de HPPD endógena de la planta, dando como resultado una mutación de aminoácidos de la HPPD endógena en una o más posiciones seleccionadas del grupo que consiste en la posición 417, 365, 378, 414, 415 ó 419, refiriéndose la posición de aminoácidos a la SEQ ID Nº 1. Claim 13: A method of producing herbicide resistant plants, the method comprising the targeted modification of the endogenous HPPD coding sequence of the plant, resulting in an amino acid mutation of the endogenous HPPD at one or more positions selected from the group that consists of position 417, 365, 378, 414, 415 or 419, the amino acid position referring to SEQ ID No. 1. Claim 18: A method of producing a herbicide resistant plant, comprising performing physical mutagenesis or chemical mutagenesis to a population of said plants, and selecting a plant whose endogenous HPPD contains at least one amino acid mutation at one or more positions, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 positions, selected from position 417, 365, 378 , 414, 415 or 419, the amino acid position referring to SEQ ID No. 1.
