Claim 1: A compound of formula (1) wherein: R¹ is independently selected from halogen and methyl; n is 0, 1 or 2; R² and R³ are independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, methoxy, difluoromethyl, trifluoromethyl, or methyl; R⁴ is cyano, C₁₋₅ alkyl, C₂₋₅ alkenyl, C₂₋₅ alkynyl, C₁₋₄ alkoxy, C₁₋₄ haloalkoxy, C₃₋₅ alkenyloxy, C₃₋₅ alkynyloxy, C₁₋₋alkoxy, C₁₋₋ haloalkoxy C₁₋₄-C₁₋₅-alkyl, C₁₋₄-haloalkoxy-C₁₋₄-alkoxy, C₂₋₄-haloalkenyl, C₁₋₄-alkoxy-C₂₋₅-alkenyl, C₁₋₅-cyano-alkyl, C₁₋-cyano-alkoxy C₂₋₅ alkenyl, C₃₋₆ cycloalkyl, phenyl, phenyl-C₁₋₂ alkyl, heteroaryl or C₁₋₂ heteroarylalkyl, wherein the heteroaryl moiety is a 5- or 6-membered aromatic ring comprising 1, 2, 3 or 4 heteroatoms individually selected from N, O and S, and wherein the cycloalkyl, phenyl or heteroaryl groups are optionally substituted with 1, 2 or 3 substituents independently selected from halogen, cyano, C₁₋₃ alkyl, C₁₋₂ haloalkyl, C₁₋₄ alkoxy and C₁₋₄ haloalkoxy; and R⁵ is hydrogen, C₁₋₅ alkyl or C₁₋₄ haloalkyl; or R⁴ and R⁵ together with the connecting carbon atom form a 3 to 6 membered carbocyclic group; R⁶ and R⁷ are independently selected from hydrogen, fluorine or methyl; R⁸ is hydrogen, cyano, nitro, halogen, C₁₋₅ alkyl, C₃₋₆ cycloalkyl, C₁₋₄ alkoxycarbonyl, C₁₋₄ haloalkyl, C₃₋₆ halocycloalkyl, C₁₋₄ alkylsulfonyl, C₁₋₄ haloalkylsulfonyl, C₋₋ alkoxy C₁₋₄ alkylsulfonyl, C₁₋₄ haloalkoxy, C₁₋₄ alkylsulfonyl, C₁₋₄ cyano-alkylsulfonyl, C₃₋₆ cycloalkylsulfonyl, phenylsulfonyl, benzylsulfonyl, phenyl, and heteroaryl wherein the heteroaryl moiety is a 5- or 6-membered aromatic ring comprising 1, 2, 3 or 4 heteroatoms individually selected from N, O and S, and wherein phenyl and heteroaryl are optionally substituted with 1, 2 or 3 substituents independently selected from halogen, C₁₋₃ alkyl, C₁₋₄ alkoxy, haloalkoxy C₁₋₄, cyano, C₁₋₂ haloalkyl; and R⁹ is hydrogen, halogen, cyano or nitro; or an agronomically acceptable salt, N-oxide or stereoisomer thereof.
