Abstract
Plantas de girasol con resistencia herbicida que contienen dos diferentes alelos con resistencia herbicida del gen de la subunidad mayor 1 de la sintasa del ácido hidroxiacético (AHASL1). Se describen métodos para producir estas plantas de girasol y métodos para controlar maleza u otra vegetación no deseada que crece en la vecindad de estas plantas de girasol. Tales métodos involucran el uso de herbicidas inhibidores de AHAS. Se describen también métodos para el control del crecimiento de malezas parásitas en las plantas de girasol. Adicionalmente se proporcionan métodos para determinar el genotipo del gen AHASL1 de las plantas de girasol.Herbicidal resistant sunflower plants containing two different herbicidal resistant alleles of the hydroxyacetic acid synthase 1 major subunit (AHASL1) gene. Methods for producing these sunflower plants and methods for controlling weeds or other unwanted vegetation growing in the vicinity of these sunflower plants are described. Such methods involve the use of AHAS inhibitor herbicides. Methods for controlling the growth of parasitic weeds in sunflower plants are also described. Additionally, methods are provided to determine the genotype of the AHASL1 gene of sunflower plants.
