Abstract

Reivindicación 5: El agente inductor de tolerancia al estrés osmótico de planta de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 a 4, donde la inducción de tolerancia al estrés osmótico de planta es al menos inducción de la expresión de DREB. Claim 2: The plant osmotic stress tolerance inducing agent according to claim 1, wherein in the general formula (1), R¹ is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, a methyl group, a alkenyl group, an alkoxy group (except a methoxy group), or a group -CHR⁶-CH₂CH = C (CH₃) ₂; R² is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom; R³ is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, or a nitro group; R⁴ is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, or a nitro group; R⁵ is a hydrogen atom or a nitro group; R⁶ is a hydrogen atom or a group -OCO-R⁷; R⁷ is an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group having one or more hydroxyl groups, an alkenyl group, or a -R⁸-OCO-R⁹ group; R⁸ is a hydrocarbon represented by -CₙH₂ₙ- (n is 2 or greater); R⁹ is an alkyl group, and the plant osmotic stress tolerance inducing agent contains, as active ingredient, a compound of the general formula (1) different from 2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone. Claim 3: The plant osmotic stress tolerance inducing agent according to claim 1, wherein the compound is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of 1,4-naphthoquinone, 5-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, 5,8-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, 5-hydroxy-2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2,3-dichloro-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2, 3-dichloro-5,8-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2,3-dichloro-5-nitro-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2,3-dichloro-6-nitro-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2- methoxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, 2-amino-3-chloro-1,4-naphthoquinone, a shikonin compound, and an alkannine compound. Claim 5: The plant osmotic stress tolerance inducing agent according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the induction of plant osmotic stress tolerance is at least induction of DREB expression. Claim 8: A method of reducing drought stress in a fruit, vegetable or cereal crop, comprising the use of the plant osmotic stress tolerance inducing agent according to any one of claims 1 to 4.
