Abstract

Un dispositivo y método de calentamiento in-situ por corriente eléctrica para probetas ensayadas al impacto en altas temperaturas, donde dicho dispositivo comprende básicamente un circuito eléctrico de aplicación y control de corriente, un mecanismo de apriete y liberación de contactos eléctricos, un sensor de temperatura y un sensor de movimiento, el cual se instala en una máquina de ensayos de impacto, y donde dicho método consiste en calentar a una probeta del tipo conductora eléctrica ubicada en el yunque de la máquina de ensayos de impacto mediante la aplicación de una corriente eléctrica alterna a través de dicha probeta, de modo tal que se alcanza y se mantiene una elevada temperatura deseada en la zona de fractura de dicha probeta hasta el instante previo a producirse el impacto.A device and method of in-situ heating by electric current for test specimens tested at high temperature impact, wherein said device basically comprises an electrical circuit for applying and controlling current, a mechanism for tightening and releasing electrical contacts, a temperature sensor and a motion sensor, which is installed in an impact test machine, and where said method is to heat a test tube of the electric conductive type located on the anvil of the impact test machine by applying an electric current it alternates through said specimen, so that a desired high temperature is reached and maintained in the fracture zone of said specimen until the instant before the impact occurs.
