Abstract

Un proceso para fabricar la carcasa de una pistola de perforación que incluye proveer la carcasa de la pistola de perforación que tiene una pared de espesor nominal y por lo menos un ahuecamiento. Cada ahuecamiento consiste en una porción de la pared que tiene un menor espesor con relación al espesor nominal de pared. El proceso también incluye aplicar un proceso de templado selectivo a la carcasa de una pistola de perforación. El proceso de templado selectivo afecta las propiedades del material del ahuecamiento pero en general no afecta sustancialmente las propiedades del material de las porciones de la pared que tienen el espesor nominal. Reivindicación 15: Un método para perforar una formación caracterizado porque comprende: proveer un conjunto de pistola de perforación que tiene: una carcasa de la pistola con una pluralidad de ahuecamientos templados de manera selectiva separados en forma radial alrededor de la carcasa de la pistola, donde cada ahuecamiento templado de manera selectiva define una porción de menor espesor de la carcasa de la pistola, y un soporte para la carga posicionado dentro de la carcasa de la pistola, donde el soporte para la carga sitúa a por lo menos una carga en una posición adyacente a cada ahuecamiento y la orienta de manera de dirigir una explosión a través de cada ahuecamiento; posicionar el conjunto de pistola de perforación en una perforación de pozo; y detonar las cargas.
