Abstract

La presencia de hierro en una formación subterránea, en particular de hierro férrico, puede ser problemática durante una operación de acidificación debido a que pueden formarse fangos. Los métodos para tratar una formación subterránea en presencia de hierro pueden comprender: proveer un fluido de tratamiento que comprende un ácido y un agente estabilizante de hierro que comprende un polímero de ácido carboxílico fosfinado, donde el fluido de tratamiento tiene un pH de aproximadamente 3 o menor y el polímero de ácido carboxílico fosfinado es soluble en el fluido de tratamiento, introducir el fluido de tratamiento en una formación subterránea, y hacer interactuar al polímero de ácido carboxílico fosfinado con el hierro férrico de la formación subterránea.
