Abstract

Célula de levadura modificada genéticamente que comprende: a) la eliminación o alteración de una o más secuencias de nucleótidos seleccionadas del grupo que consiste en GPD1, GPD2, GPP1 y GPP2 y b) la presencia de una o más secuencias de nucleótidos heterólogos que codifica para una acetaldehído deshidrogenasa acetilante dependiente de NAD⁺ (E.C. 1.2.1.10.), en donde la célula de levadura tiene una osmotolerancia de 0,5 OsM o más. Reivindicación 16: Proceso para preparar un producto de fermentación, caracterizado porque comprende preparar un producto de fermentación a partir de acetato y a partir de un hidrato de carbono fermentable -en particular un hidrato de carbono seleccionado del grupo que consiste en glucosa, fructosa, sacarosa, maltosa, xilosa, arabinosa, galactosa y manosa en donde dicha preparación se realiza bajo condiciones anaeróbicas usando una célula de levadura, de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 - 9 o la reivindicación 14.Genetically modified yeast cell comprising: a) the removal or alteration of one or more nucleotide sequences selected from the group consisting of GPD1, GPD2, GPP1 and GPP2 and b) the presence of one or more heterologous nucleotide sequences encoding a NAD⁺-dependent acetaldehyde dehydrogenase (EC 1.2.1.10.), wherein the yeast cell has an osmotolerance of 0.5 OsM or more. Claim 16: Process for preparing a fermentation product, characterized in that it comprises preparing a fermentation product from acetate and from a fermentable carbohydrate - in particular a carbohydrate selected from the group consisting of glucose, fructose, sucrose, maltose, xylose, arabinose, galactose and mannose wherein said preparation is performed under anaerobic conditions using a yeast cell, according to any one of claims 1-9 or claim 14.
