Abstract
Aparato y método para el suministro de polen en la polinización dirigida de plantas. Una modalidad ilustrativa comprende un tubo rígido que tiene un primer extremo, un segundo extremo y un canal definido entre ellos, en donde el tubo rígido está configurado para recibir la espiga de la planta de maíz en las proximidades del primer extremo e interactuar con la mazorca de la planta de maíz en las proximidades del segundo extremo, y en donde el canal define un trayecto entre la espiga y la mazorca a fin de permitir la transferencia de polen desde la espiga hasta la mazorca. En otra modalidad ilustrativa, el tubo rígido puede ser telescópico, de modo que la longitud total del tubo rígido puede ser ajustable. En otra modalidad ilustrativa, el aparato puede incluir un ventilador configurado para impulsar aire sobre la espiga a fin de ayudar en la transferencia de polen a través del canal hasta la mazorca. Los aparatos y métodos son aplicables a la polinización cruzada dirigida entre plantas diferentes de la misma especie y plantas de especies diferentes.
