Abstract
Reivindicación 1: Un método para controlar microorganismos en un sistema acuoso o que contiene agua que posee una temperatura de al menos 40ºC, método que comprende poner en contacto el sistema acuoso o que contiene agua con un compuesto antimicrobiano protegido de la fórmula (1) donde R es alquilo C₁₋₆ opcionalmente sustituido con hidroxilo; X e Y son, de manera independiente, O ó NR, donde R es, de manera independiente, H o alquilo C₁₋₆; y R¹ y R² son H o R¹ y R², junto con el grupo CH-N-CH al que se encuentran unidos, forman un anillo piperidinilo. Reivindicación 5: Un método de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, donde el compuesto de fórmula (1) es: 7a-metilhexahidro-1H-imidazo[1,5-c]imidazol; 7a-etilhexahidro-1H-imidazo[1,5-c]imidazol; 2a-metiloctahidro-1,4-dioxa-2a¹-azaciclopenta[cd]indeno 2a-etiloctahidro-1,4-dioxa-2a¹-azaciclopenta[cd]indeno; (octahidro-1,4-dioxa-2a¹-azaciclopenta[cd]inden-2a-il)metanol; 2a-metildecahidro-1,2a¹,4-triazaciclopenta[cd]indeno; 2a-etildecahidro-1,2a¹,4-triazaciclopenta[cd]indeno; o una mezcla de dos o más de ellos. Reivindicación 8: Un compuesto que es: 7a-metilhexahidro-1H-imidazo[1,5-c]imidazol; 7a-etilhexahidro-1H-imidazo[1,5-c]imidazol; 2a-metildecahidro-1,2a¹,4-triazaciclopenta[cd]indeno; o 2a-etildecahidro-1,2a¹,4-triazaciclopenta[cd]indeno.Claim 1: A method for controlling microorganisms in an aqueous system or containing water having a temperature of at least 40 ° C, a method comprising contacting the aqueous system or containing water with a protected antimicrobial compound of the formula (1) wherein R is C₁₋₆ alkyl optionally substituted with hydroxyl; X and Y are, independently, O or NR, where R is, independently, H or C₁₋₆ alkyl; and R¹ and R² are H or R¹ and R², together with the CH-N-CH group to which they are attached, form a piperidinyl ring. Claim 5: A method according to claim 1, wherein the compound of formula (1) is: 7a-methylhexahydro-1H-imidazo [1,5-c] imidazole; 7a-ethylhexahydro-1H-imidazo [1,5-c] imidazole; 2a-Methylctahydro-1,4-dioxa-2a¹-azacyclopenta [cd] indene 2a-ethyl octahydro-1,4-dioxa-2a¹-azacyclopenta [cd] indene; (octahydro-1,4-dioxa-2a¹-azacyclopenta [cd] inden-2a-yl) methanol; 2a-methyldecahydro-1,2a¹, 4-triazacyclopenta [cd] indene; 2a-ethyldecahydro-1,2a¹, 4-triazacyclopenta [cd] indene; or a mixture of two or more of them. Claim 7: A method according to claim 1, wherein the aqueous or water-containing system is a fracture fluid, a drilling fluid, a water flood system, or water from an oil field. Claim 8: A compound that is: 7a-methylhexahydro-1H-imidazo [1,5-c] imidazole; 7a-ethylhexahydro-1H-imidazo [1,5-c] imidazole; 2a-methyldecahydro-1,2a¹, 4-triazacyclopenta [cd] indene; or 2a-ethyldecahydro-1,2a¹, 4-triazacyclopenta [cd] indene.
