Abstract
Lysozyme amyloid fibers, where lysozyme is self-assembled forming fibrous complexes (biological nanotubes) whose secondary structure comprises at least one cross-b structure, with the native lysozyme lacking such structures. Lysozyme amyloid fibers lack biological and enzymatic activity. The support for protein binding comprises the lysozyme amyloid fibers and the biocatalyst comprises at least one enzyme linked to the lysozyme amyloid fiber support by a photosensitization method. The immobilized protein can be an enzyme, for example a lipase. The process significantly increases the enzymatic stability of the immobilized biological product.
