EF mesh data includes EF mesh node locations (212) and spatial domains (214) for each of the EF mesh node locations. Values of a property of the underground formation are generated for each of the EF mesh node locations. The value of a given EF mesh node location is generated based on the DF grid values for DF grid node locations within the spatial domain around said EF mesh node location. The generated values are assigned to the EF mesh node locations of the EF mesh data (202b) for the geomechanical modeling of the underground region.
