Ácidos 2-[(1-cianopropil)carbamoil]-5-metoximetil nicotínicos de la fórmula (1) en donde Z es H o halógeno; Z1 es H, halógeno, ciano o niro; R1 es alquilo C1-4; R2 es alquilo C1-4, cicloalquilo C3-6 o R1 y R2, cuando se los toma junto con el átomo al cual están unidos, representan un grupo cicloalquilo C3-6 opcionalmente sustituido con metilo y R3 es hidrógeno o un catión seleccionado preferentemente del grupo que consiste en metales alcalino, metales alcalinotérreos, manganeso, cobre, hierro, zinc, cobalto, plomo, plata, níquel, amonio y amonio orgánico; son intermediarios útiles para la síntesis de imidazolinonas herbicidas.2 - [(1-Cyanopropyl) carbamoyl] -5-methoxymethyl nicotinic acids of the formula (1) wherein Z is H or halogen; Z1 is H, halogen, cyano or niro; R1 is C1-4 alkyl; R2 is C1-4 alkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl or R1 and R2, when taken together with the atom to which they are attached, represent a C3-6 cycloalkyl group optionally substituted with methyl and R3 is hydrogen or a cation preferably selected from group consisting of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, manganese, copper, iron, zinc, cobalt, lead, silver, nickel, ammonium and organic ammonium; they are useful intermediates for the synthesis of herbicidal imidazolinones.
