Abstract

Se presenta un método para la produccion de aditivo mejorador del índice de cetano para aceite diesel, producido a partir de biodiesel de aceite de ricino. El referido método emplea la nitracion directa del sitio de funcion hidroxilo que ya forma parte de la estructura química molecular natural del éster de ácido graso que es generado en la produccion de biodiesel obtenido a partir de aceite de ricino. El presente método es ventajoso por presentar menor cantidad de etapas de procesamiento, menor tasa de nitracion indeseada en las insaturaciones, menor consumo de mezcla nitrante, reduccion de índice de anexacion de NO2 en las moléculas de aditivo y la consiguiente reduccion de los impactos ambientales indeseables provocados por Nox, y utiliza materia prima proveniente de fuentes renovables. El presente aditivo mejorador de cetano puede ser empleado para ser anadido a cargas de aceite diesel de origen mineral, biodiesel, o mezclas sinérgicas de éstos, en cualquier proporcion.
