Claim 1: A cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising: (a) a nanocomposite pigment consisting of: (1) a nucleus, and (2) a coverage consisting of nanoparticles in which said nucleus has a refractive index greater than refractive index of the nanoparticles, and (b) a cosmetic or pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
