Abstract
La presente se relaciona con un dispositivo y un procedimiento para la detección y/o diagnóstico de fallas en sensores utilizados para medir y controlar variables de un proceso, tanto para fallas únicas como fallas múltiples. La detección y/o diagnóstico se efectúan en base al cálculo de residuos entre los valores medidos y los valores calculados por una pluralidad de modelos lineales paralelos, construidos a partir de las correlaciones existentes entre las variables medidas por los sensores del proceso. Una falla en un modelo (por esto se entiende la obtención de un residuo anómalamente alto por comparación entre la estimación del modelo y la medición), aumenta la probabilidad de que alguno de los sensores encargados de medir las variables participantes en el mismo esté fallando. Cuando todos los modelos en los que una variable participa fallan o presentan una alta probabilidad de falla, la probabilidad de falla del sensor que mide esa variable es máxima.
