Abstract

Es un dispositivo portátil que permite calentar agua usando la energía del sol y acumularla para su posterior consumo. Almacena el agua caliente igual que cualquier termo pero además puede utilizarse para calentar la misma cuando se expone al sol. El termo posee un sistema de espejos que se despliegan cuando éste se abre. Los mismos redireccionan la radiacion solar hacia la ampolla. Esta ampolla permite pasar la energía del sol y calentar el agua. El agua solamente está en contacto con el vidrio internamente con lo cual no hay riesgo de toxicidad. Las temperaturas que alcanza el mismo están en funcion de la cantidad de tiempo que se lo deja al sol y de la temperatura inicial, puede superar los 100°C en algunos casos. Almacena el calor durante el mismo tiempo que un termo convencional o de acero inoxidable.
