Abstract

In an apparatus with these characteristics, a mini centrifugal compressor can be used with advantage, thus allowing the use of low GWP refrigerants (global warming potential). This also relates to methods for driving a compressor, such as a mini-centrifugal compressor, in a refrigeration or air conditioner, and methods for controlling compressor overload, rotor speed and cooling capacity.
