Abstract

La presente se refiere a un catalizador para preparar anhídrido ftálico por oxidacion de fase gaseosa de o-xileno y/o naftaleno, que comprende al menos tres zonas de catalizador que tienen diferente composicion, las cuales son referidas desde el lado de entrada de gas hacia el lado de salida de gas como primera, segunda y tercera zona de catalizador, teniendo las zonas de catalizador en cada caso una composicion activa que comprende TiO2, disminuyendo el contenido de composicion activa desde la primera zona de catalizador dispuesta hacia el lado de entrada de gas hacia la tercera zona de catalizador dispuesta hacia el lado de salida de gas, siempre que: a) la primera zona de catalizador tiene un contenido de composicion activa entre aproximadamente 7 y 12% en peso; b) la segunda zona de catalizador tiene un contenido de composicion activa en la zona entre 6 y 11% en peso, siendo el contenido de composicion activa de la segunda zona de catalizador menor o igual que el contenido de composicion activa de la primera zona de catalizador, y c) la tercera zona de catalizador tiene un contenido de composicion activa en la zona entre 5 y 10% en peso, siendo el contenido de composicion activa de la tercera zona de catalizador menor que o igual al contenido de composicion activa de la segunda zona de catalizador.
