Abstract

Se describe una trampa (1) de forma substancialmente cilíndrica que tiene una base (2), pared lateral (3) y una parte superior extraíble (4) que a su vez tiene una superficie superior (7) de forma substancialmente cóncava. Un canasto de malla con su extremo superior abierto (6) se apoya sobre un soporte de malla (5) dentro de la trampa (1). Justo sobre la superficie superior (7) de la parte superior (4) hay una luz (14) que, cuando se energiza, atrae al insecto que se desea exterminar. La trampa (1) se llena con agua hasta aproximadamente sus dos terceras partes (16) que luego se bombea desde dentro del cuerpo de la trampa para crear un flujo de líquido substancialmente helicoidal sobre la superficie superior (7) de la parte superior (4) al volver al cuerpo de la trampa (1). Los insectos atraídos hacia la luz (14) son atrapados por el agua (16) y enjuagados hacia abajo dentro de la trampa y retenidos dentro del canasto de malla (6).
