Abstract

Un aparato 10 para triturar materiales tales como roca, mineral, carbon, piedra y similares, incluye dos rodillos 16A y 16B que se encuentran montados en paralelo para definir un espacio 18 entre los mismo. Trozos de material a ser triturados se alimentan por un transportador 12 dentro de la prensa 14 entre los rodillos. Cada rodillo 16A y 16B es similar e incluye escalones que se extienden longitudinalmente que se proveen por caras que se extienden hacia afuera y segmentos de superficie parejamente curvos entre los escalones. Cuando los rodillos se contra-rotan a la misma velocidad, el espacio 18 se mantiene substancialmente constante y efectivamente alterna transversalmente en ubicacion entre límites definidos por el punto extremo externo de la cara de un escalon sobre un rodillo ubicado enfrentado al punto extremo interno de la cara de un escalon sobre el rodillo opuesto. Comparado con una trituracion con rodillo pareja la presente provee mayores relaciones de reduccion que se pueden obtener a velocidades rotacionales más bajas y utilizando rodillos con un diámetro más pequeno.
