Abstract

Se refiere a un dispositivo para acceder a la senal de television de distribucion por cable o CATV, que es parte de un sistema de distribucion de senal de CATV que comprende un extremo de cabecera, una red de distribucion, puntos de acceso locales, un conector y un aparato receptor de TV. Dicho dispositivo comprende medios de lectura y control, medios de aprobacion de pago previo reconocidos por los operadores de la red de CATV, y medios de filtro, realizando el medio de lectura y control la lectura del medio de aprobacion de pago previo reconocido por los operadores de CATV, el reconocimiento del medio de aprobacion de pago previo reconocido por los operadores de CATV y el descuento de los créditos (pulsos) y el envío de comandos al medio de filtro que realiza un reconocimiento de seguridad de los comandos y envía la senal de CATV al aparato de TV, realizándose ésto de acuerdo con las características del medio de aprobacion de pago previo reconocido por los operadores de red de CATV y debido a que las comunicaciones para el control de acceso a la senal distribuida a través de la red de CATV se limita a la conexion entre medios de lectura y control y el medio de filtro. En el dispositivo de acuerdo con la invencion un conjunto de comandos codificados es enviado por el medio de lectura el cual utiliza la capacidad bidireccional del cable para controlar el medio de filtro, el cual permite limitar / acceder a un intervalo de frecuencias que se hace disponible por el medio de filtro.
