The present also comprises a controller capable of receiving a tilt detector switch signal, and generating an alarm signal. The apparatus also comprises an alarm signaling device that is capable of sending the alarm signal to alert the caregiver that the person to whom the present invention is attached is trying to get out of bed or chair. The alarm signaling device may be a radio frequency transmitter capable of sending radio signals to a receiving radio station. Alternatively, the alarm signaling device can be an audio speaker capable of making a loud sound.
