Abstract

Se describe un producto y procesos para la fabricacion de un tubo de colada metalurgico a ser utilizado en el moldeo continuo de acero. El productoposee un manguito resistente a la erosion dentro de un cuerpo del tubo de colada. Se dispone una regionde acomodamiento que permite la expansiontérmica del manguito entre el manguito y el cuerpo. La region comprende un espacio o un material comprimible. A medida que el tubo de colada es llevadoa las temperaturas de moldeo, la region permite que el manguito se expanda sin fracturar el cuerpo del mismo. El producto puede ser fabricado poraplicacion de varios procesos. Un primer proceso describe la colocacion de un manguito premoldeado recubierto con un material separador en una mezclaque conformará el cuerpo, y la coccion del producto a los efectos de configurar una region de acomodamiento. Un segundo proceso comprende inyectar unamezcla refractaria resistente a la erosion en una cavidad dentro del cuerpo y la coccion del artículo.
