Abstract

The improvement is provided by structures in which the absorbent core has high capillary pressure, which helps the core rapidly acquire body fluids deposited on the surface of the absorbent article body and retain those fluids after it has been acquired. Absorbent gelling materials with reduced gel blockage are a component of preference for the nucleus, which aids in fluid retention by providing a mechanism for fluid retention by osmosis.The upper leaves cooperate with the nucleus, being both fluid permeable and provide a barrier against the repetition of the wetting by the acquired fluids. The upper sheet also has a multiplicity of fibrils that produce the surface that faces the body of the absorbent article. These fibrils are arranged in a density, and have dimensions and mechanical properties, such that the surface facing the body provides a smooth velvety sensation when it comes into contact with the skin. It is applied in sanitary napkins, inner linings for female bombs, honeycombs, pads, adult incontinence briefs, and other similar items.
