Abstract

La presente invencion está dirigida a procesos de polimerizacion por precipitacion para la fabricacion de polímeros esencialmente no entrecruzadospreparados a partir de monomero de N-vinil acetamida los cuales exhiben niveles reducidos de contaminantes no polimerizables residuales, particulamenteacetamida residual. El proceso incluye los pasos de poner en contacto monomero de N-vinil acetamida con un medio de polimerizacion que contiene un diluyenteseleccionado a partir de acetato de etilo y acetona y un iniciador de radicales libres, bajo condiciones efectivas para polimerizar el monomero de N-vinilacetamida, formando de este modo un precipitado del polímero en el medio de polimerizacion; y aislar del medio de polimerizacion elpolímero precipitado.
