Abstract

A class of corn plants was developed that is superior as pollinators in the TopCross Grain Production System (C). Plants in this class are larger and more vigorous than many of today's TC Blend (C) pollinators. The seed produced by this new class of TC Blend depolinizers is produced in higher yields and has higher vigor and quality than many current TC Blend pollinators. Likewise, the means by which the seed of this class of plants is produced allows the rapid generation of a wide range of maturations of TC Blend depolinizations. This greatly expands both the geographic scope and the genetic breadth of the Top-Cross grain production system.
