Abstract

Un aparato para mejorar el margen de enlace de un enlace de comunicacion que incluye un codificador vocal de velocidad variable que disminuye lavelocidad de salida del flujo de bitios que produce para reducir la cantidad de informacion que tieneq ue transmitir en el enlace de comunicacion. En unarealizacion, el codificador vocal de velocidad variable incluye multiples porciones de codificador vocal, cada una de las cuales produce una velocidadde flujo de bitios diferente. Se usa elsele ctor para seleccionar entre los flujos de salida de bitios producidos por cada uno de los codificadoresvocales. En otra realizacion, un dispositivo logico se acopla a la salida del codificador vocal. El dispositivo logico, al recibir lasenal d e control,trunca los bitios menos importantes. El método para mejorar el margen de enlace incluye la reduccion de la velocidad de salida del codificador vocal,reduciendo, de esta forma, la cantidad de datos que se transmiten en un enla ce de comunicacion. El método incluye, además, el uso de una codificacionaumentada de la correccion de errores y la transmision a mayores niveles de potencia por bitios para aumentar el margen de enlace. Un dispositivo disenadoparaaumentar el ma rgen de enlace cada vez que recibe un pedido para efectuar dicho aumento, pedido que se basa en una pobre calidad de la senal.
