Abstract

Se proporciona una unidad formada por una tarjeta de memoria y, al menos un aparato de escritura/lectura con la cual se puede prolongar el período devalidez de las tarjetas inteligentes (smart cards), sin que sea necesaria la entrega de dichastarj etas por parte de sus propietarios. Para estepropósito, se hace uso de aparatos de escritura/lectura instalados cerca de los usuarios de las tarjetas inteligentes (smart cards) y, se prolonga lafecha de validez de la smart card por medio de unacontr asena de prolongación enviada por la agencia emisora central al usuario.
