Abstract

Repellent compositions containing aromatic aldehydes such as cinnamic aldehyde, alpha-hexylcinnamic aldehyde and / or coniferyl aldehyde are stipulated in conjunction with methods for their use as pest repellents, including flies, cockroaches, aphids, silver-leaf whiteflies, mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, trypsid leaf grasshoppers, spotted spider mites, snails, slugs, biting flies, earwigs and moths. Methods of repelling pests are also provided with such compositions.
