Además se dan a conocermezclas y un sistema de composiciones para promover el crecimiento de plantas útiles para llevar a cabo dicho método.A method of promoting the growth of a plant comprising: (a) applying to the leaves of the plant an amount of an enhancing substance that increases the amount of C1-tetrahydrofolate C1-THF) in the leaves; (b) optionally applying a C1-entry substance to the leaves that increases the metabolism of C1 fragments through C1-THF; (c) applying to the leaves a C1 acceptor compound that serves as a collector of C1 fragments in the leaves; and optional (d) exposes the leaves to conditions that promote the oxidative metabolism of photorespiration. Furthermore, mixtures and a system of compositions are disclosed to promote the growth of useful plants to carry out said method.
