Abstract

A method of operating a bioleach process for the leaching of a sulfide bearing oreor concentrate includes subjecting a bioleach slurry which includes dissolved oxygen, dissolved carbon dioxide, sulphide and microorganisms to a bioleach stage, and controlling the redox potential of the bioleach slurry within a predetermined range.
