Abstract

Automatic device for brush cleaning, incorporating a motor and comprising, as a main element, a plastic container, having three openings of different size at the upper part thereof for different size brushes or paintbrushes to be introduced therethrough for being simultaneously cleaned. This device is provided inside with small fixed plastic tubes, being coupled to the device at the inner sides thereof, which fasten a sponge roller and another one with silicone bristles or similar materials, and which also allow rotation thereof and the subsequent draining of the brushes, eliminating residues and excess water from the bristles.

Description

BRUSH CLEANING DEVICE WITH BATTERY
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The present invention may be included in the technical field of brushes, and it particularly refers to a device for automatically cleaning large brushes, paintbrushes and similar elements, being actuated by means of an external power source such as a battery or battery cell. BACKGROUD OF THE INVENTION
In order to clean brushes, paintbrushes and the like after using them, habitually the first step is to rinse them in a great amount of water, a process which is repeated several times until completely removing the remains adhered to the bristles of said elements, which are usually foam, soap or paint. Finally, the brush is drained preferably by squeezing, so as to eliminate the cleaning water remains.
In the current state of the art, there are known draining devices such as the one described in patent number US8763271 , which discloses a device for cleaning brushes held by means of a direct coupling, which squeezes the brush and the handle of other device is placed as a support. On the other hand, the present invention allows cleaning the bristles in a practical and easy way by means of the design thereof.
Unlike the device disclosed in the above patent, consisting of two separate elements, the present invention performs the cleaning task in a single container where water is directly poured in. Paint remains are removed by using two rollers, and these simultaneously squeeze the bristles, leaving the brush free from residues for its subsequent use or storage. On the other side, patent number US5185938 shows a device which operates by manual torsion. It is provided with a wooden box where the brush is inserted leaving the brush handle exposed, and upon moving it manually, this is cleaned onto a single roller. On the other side, the present invention is a device featuring the double function of cleaning and squeezing, directly pouring water inside thereof, unlike the device disclosed in the above patent, which is limited in its operation because it is provided with just one roller.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention refers to an automatic and compact-sized device, preferably made of plastic or similar materials, said device being intended for cleaning used brushes of different thickness and size.
For that purpose, batteries, preferably rechargeable battery cells, supply a motor with power, which in turn causes an agitation in a water container where the brush to be cleaned is introduced, in such a way that said agitation of the water causes detachment of the solid remains being adhered to the brush bristles, which mix with the water in the container.
Once the remains adhered to the bristles are removed, the brush is taken out of the container and arranged between two upper rollers and being parallel to each other, which rub said bristles so as to remove by draining the water remains, which fall into the aforementioned container. In a preferred embodiment, one of the rollers is a sponge and the opposite consists of silicone bristles.
Once the brush cleaning is concluded, the dirty water with the paint remains detached from the brush, is taken out of the compartment so as to be thrown.
It is an object of the present invention to clean brushes quickly with little use of water and without employing manual force. It is another object of the present invention that the device is provided with a motor which shall be powered by batteries that will agitate the container for cleaning the brushes. It is another object thereof that it can be used with brushes of different size and thickness.
It is another object of the present invention to provide for easy disposal of the water once the brush cleaning is finished.
It is another object of the present invention to contribute to energy saving and awareness about using natural resources by reducing the use of water. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To implement the present description being made and in order to provide a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as part of this description, with an illustrative but not limitative purpose, which represents the following:
Figure 1 .- It shows a front schematic view of the device object of the invention.
Figure 2.- It shows a cross-sectional view of figure 1 , showing the inner components of the device.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
The following is a detailed description, with the help of the figures referred above, of an exemplary preferred embodiment of the device object of the present invention.
The automatic brush cleaning device being described, schematically shown in figure 1 , comprises an outer, closed and hollow casing (1 ) which is made of plastic in this preferred embodiment, said casing (1 ) with through holes (2) being defined therein intended for allowing brushes to go therethrough into the casing (1 ).
Inside the casing (1 ), intended for accommodating a water volume for wetting the bristles of the brushes introduced through the corresponding holes (2), there can be found, transversely, a first axis (3) and a second axis (4) being parallel to each other and rotational, actuated by means of an electric motor (5), operable by means of a switch (6) located outside the casing (1 ), rotating transversely, onto which rollers are coaxially arranged. As figure 2 illustrates, onto the first axis (3) a first roller (7) is coaxial and integrally mounted, which in this preferred embodiment is a sponge. Likewise, onto the second axis (4), a second roller (8) is integrally and coaxially mounted, incorporating silicone spikes in this preferred embodiment. Both axes (3,4) rotate in opposite directions. The holes (1 ) include perimetral washers (9), so as to provide for an easier fastening of the brushes. Grooves (10) extend downwardly from the perimeter of the holes (2) into the casing (1 ) for guiding the brushes towards the rollers (7,8). Likewise, some batteries (1 1 ) provide the necessary energy for actuating the motor (5). The automatic device for brush cleaning is used for rinsing brushes of different sizes simultaneously inside the casing (1 ). For that purpose, the user introduces, through corresponding holes (2) located at the upper part of the casing (1 ), the brushes or paintbrushes having dirty bristles, in such a way that said bristles are oriented towards the inside of the casing (1 ), for them to be submerged in the water kept inside.
At that moment, and actuated by the switch (6), the motor (5) agitates the casing (1 ) and produces rotational displacement of the axes (3,4), in such a way that the water from inside release the residues adhered to the bristles. Once the brush cleaning is finished, these are taken out through the holes, guided by the corresponding grooves (10), such that when passing through the space defined between the rollers (7,8), these press onto the bristles for draining and disposal of excess water from cleaning still adhered thereto, which falls on that is left with the remains being eliminated.
