To provide a means whereby the entire form of the traveler may be supported in a comfortable position in the seat of a railroad-car is the object of my invention, which consists in a removable support for the back, applied to the arm or corner of the seat, the shape of the removable support corresponding to the conformation of the body, and fitting it snugly from the lower part of the back to the shoulders and head of the occupant, and being readily removed and replaced to allow of the seat being reversed. 1
To enable others skilled in the art to understand and use my invention, I will proceed to describe the mannerin which I have carried it out.
In the said drawing- A represents the seat of a IZtlllQitd-Cztl, the back a of which is pivoted to the side pieces or arms b in the ordinary manner, to admit of the seat being reversed to front in thewdirection in which the car moves.

Secured to this metal piece E is a spring provided with a catch, 9, which bears. or hooks under the lower side of the side piece or arm I), to prevent the support B from-being accidentally raised out of place, the whole acting as-a spring-clasp, O, which may be readily liberated to allow of the support being raised and rcmovedwhen the back of the seat is to be thrown over to front in the opposite direction.
