Abstract

The above machine operates in conjunction with a semi-automatic welding machine (MIG - MAG) that uses an electrode with a wire or an oxygen-acetylene flame cutting device. The operation consists in that it performs the movements of the pliers that the welder would make automatically and programmed. The motion of the mobile arms (7), (5) and of the mast (2) is achieved by step wise motors (10), (9), (11) respectively. The combination of movements along the axes X-X', Y-Y', Z-Z' is carried out in pairs. The welding pliers or flame cutter is fitted on the grapple. The grapple performs a combined movement respective to the moves of the arms (5), (7) and the mast (2). The movements are performed based on a programme by a microprocessor that is installed on the operation panel (13). The panel (13) also comprises the visual display monitor, the keys and power supply system of the machine. To protect the moving parts, they are covered by protective bellows.
