Abstract
An infant monitor includes a transmitter in the form of a soft toy and a conventional parent receiver unit. The incorporation of the transmitter into a cuddly toy makes it more child friendly. The transmitter unit may incorporate a receiver for two-way communication, and the soft toy outer covering may be detachable from the main electronics unit.

Description
Currently baby monitors are made with a hard plastic outer shell that is not necessarily pleasing to a young child. _4AS a result the momtor is often. placed.far away frond. the child.
This allows for sound and signal interference that delivers a hollow sound to the parent.
By incorporating the transmitter into a soft toy the child will be able to hold the device close to them selves.
An object of'this invention is to provide a child friendly momtor that will encourage the child to interact with the monitor and want to keep the monitor in close proximity while asleep.
Preferably the monitor's outer layer will be made from a soft washable material, brightly coloured, surrounding a harder plastic casing for the actual working of the monitor.
The device will include both tactile and auditory features that encourage the child to play with the monitor.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the following diagrams: Fig 1 Shows a whole view of the baby monitor unit.
Fig 2 Is a section showing the positioning of the electronic components.
Fig 3 A circuit diagram of the main electronic components.
Fig 4 A block diagram of the electronic components.
The baby monitor and parent unit will operate in conjunction with each other in an expected way. The internal electronic parts will be housed inside a soft toy with a design similar to the one shown in figure 1, as in figure 2.
Figure 3 and 4 are diagrams of the electronic components that wi]] be incorporated into the overall electronic part of the device. It is hoped this configuration will help the sound quality and usability of the device.
