It is necessary to minimize the amount used, and in this case, there is a problem in that the antiseptic effect is inevitably reduced. In addition, Korean Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2019-0035047 discloses the use of caprylyl glyceryl ether that can be used as a preservative, but the preservative effect of caprylyl glyceryl ether alone is incomplete and increases the amount of use. There is still a problem that may cause skin irritation, and may cause deterioration of stability such as precipitation when mixed with other ingredients other than caprylyl glyceryl ether to increase the preservative effect and applied to cosmetic products.

The present inventors are alkanediol; And a preservative for external application for skin containing caprylyl glyceryl ether or ethylhexyl glycerin was developed, and the present invention was completed by confirming the excellent antibacterial, antiseptic, safety, and stability of the preservative.
