Abstract
The present invention relates to a cooling device (1) comprising a body (2); a door (3) which covers the body (2), which provides access into the body (2) and which has an upper side (19), two lateral sides (18) and a lower side (17); at least one hinge (4) which enables the door (3) to be connected to the body (2) in an openable/closable manner; and a protrusion (14) which is provided at one end of the hinge (4) and which creates an elevation from the surface of the hinge (4) towards the lower side (17).
Description
The present invention relates to a cooling device, especially a refrigerator, comprising a door with adjustable opening/closing force.
In cooling devices, the door is connected to the body by means of hinges, and the hinges enable the door to rotatably open/close around the vertical axis of the body. In the state of the art, the hinges have a triangular protrusion and said protrusion contacts a stopper provided on the door. The stopper is fixed on the door, and the protrusion of the hinge rubs against the stopper, thus enabling the door to open/close. In this case, the user applies force (pushing or pulling) only until the stopper passes over the apex of the protrusion of the hinge to open or close the door. As the stopper passes over the apex of the protrusion of the hinge, the door can automatically close or open without requiring any additional force. In the present technology, the same hinge and the same stopper are used for cooling device doors of different types and with different weights.
The weight of the cooling device doors varies due to factors such as material of the door, items loaded onto the inner shelves of the door, etc. Therefore, since the change in the weight of the door changes the opening/closing force to be applied on the door by the user, a structure for applying different pulling/pushing forces for different weights of door is required.
In the state of the art, structures with pins and springs are used on the door so as to align with the hinges in order to enable the refrigerator doors to open/closely more easily. Said hinges only enable the door to open/close more easily, but do not propose any solution for the hinge which can operate at different levels according to different door weights.
In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US9739523, a hinge assembly is disclosed, wherein force is generated with the movements of the lower and upper cam surfaces of the pin bracket with parabolic profiles provided on a refrigerator hinge in order to facilitate the opening/closing of the door.
In the state of the art Korean Patent Document No. KR20120072759, a refrigerator is disclosed, comprising a door with limited opening angle and wherein the maximum opening force of the door is limited by means of a stopper.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooling device comprising a door having a housing which enables the door to be opened/closed at different hardness (with different force) depending on the weight thereof.
In the cooling device of the present invention, the door and the body are connected to each other by means of a hinge which provides the opening/closing of the door. Said hinge comprises a triangular protrusion having an apex.
The cooling device of the present invention comprises a ball which functions as a stopper so as to align with the protrusion and a cover whereon the ball is positioned and supported.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover comprises a ball housing which receives the ball.
The cooling device of the present invention comprises a housing which is provided at the lower side of the door and which receives the cover whereon the ball functioning as a stopper so as to align with the protrusion during the opening/closing of the door is supported.
The housing comprises mounting points which enable the cover to be mounted to a plurality of points predetermined by the producer. Thus, the ball is mounted to the housing at the lower side of the door so as to contact the different regions of the protrusion of the hinge. By contacting the protrusion, the ball can move upwards and downwards in the space inside the housing.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the housing comprises a first mounting hole, a second mounting hole and a third mounting hole wherein the cover can be mounted. When the cover is mounted to the first mounting hole, the door opens in a harsh manner. When the cover is mounted to the second mounting hole, the door opens in a semi-harsh manner. When the cover is mounted to the third mounting hole, the door opens in a smooth manner. Thus, a structure which enables the door to open at different forces depending on different weights is obtained.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cover comprises a pair of screw holes for providing connection with the mounting holes. In this embodiment, the cover is screwed to a mounting hole preferred by the user by means of screws to adjust the opening force of the door.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the housing comprises a spring which provides the movement of the ball and a connection beam whereon the spring is disposed. Thus, the ball can flexibly move inside the housing depending on the pressure force applied by the protrusion.
By means of the present invention, a cooling device is realized, comprising a door wherein different pulling forces can be adjusted for different door weights.
The model embodiments relating to the cooling device comprising a door with adjusted opening/closing force realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:
