続いて、図10から図12を参照して、参考形態にかかる香料含有シート製造装置11´について説明する。図10に示すように、成形機構17において、スラリー14を成形して幅方向Wに関して均一な厚みを有する香料含有シート12を形成すると、ゲル化機構21によるゲル化工程、および乾燥機構24による乾燥工程を経て、乾燥された香料含有シート12が製造される。しかしながら、乾燥工程において、図11で矢印に示すように香料含有シート12の幅方向Wの両端部で収縮が起こり、ある条件下では、図12に示すように両端部に膜厚が肥厚した部分12Aが形成されることがある。このように肥厚した部分12Aでは、他の部分に比して水分量が多くなっているためにゲル架橋間の隙間が大きくなっていて、シート内に含有された香料が水分と共に揮散しやすくなっている。発明者らは、上記実施形態に記載した香料含有シート12の製造方法について鋭意検討した結果、このように肥厚した部分12Aを有する香料含有シート12については、不良品となる可能性があり、製造工程において肥厚した部分12Aを除去する必要があることを見出した。 (Reference form)
