Abstract
A web based or AR/VR based immersive display systems and methods are provided. The web based immersive display system (202) includes an access managing module (204) configured to authorize an access to view a plurality of exhibitions to a user based on valid login credential; one or more three-dimensional (3D) scanners (206) configured to scan various parts of at least one of the plurality of exhibitions in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images; and a display managing module (208) configured to: create a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images; and display the 3D immersive display to the user; and a database (210) configured to store users' login credential information, information of the plurality of exhibition, 3D immersive display, and the plurality of scanned images.
Description
The presently disclosed embodiments relate to the field of 3D imaging systems. More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for providing web based or augmented reality or virtual reality based immersive display for exhibitions/events/environment to a plurality of users.
Many exhibitions happen these days about different type of items and arts. For many people, exhibitions are a good way for demonstrating their skills. An exhibition can be a demonstration or public display of works of arts, items of interest that may be held in a museum or an art gallery, or at a trade fair. Usually these exhibitions have a fixed venue and fixed timings. Further, most of the exhibitions have a limit on maximum number of people who can come to see the exhibitions due to many limitations such as a size of the venue, timing, and so forth. Further, people also have their limitations like timing of the exhibition doesn’t suits them, or may be venue for the exhibition is far from their location. Therefore, many people who would want to view the exhibition sometimes are not able to view it due to these limitations.
In light of above, there exist need for providing ways for enabling users to view or attend exhibitions as per their own convenience.
SUMMARY
The present disclosure provides web based immersive display system that enables users to view or attend an exhibition with the help of augmented and virtual reality techniques in a venue and at a time of their own choice.
An objective of the present disclosure is to provide a web based immersive display system for providing immersive display of a location or an event or an exhibition to a user. An exhibition may be a public display of works of art or items of interest, held in an art gallery or museum or at a trade fair. Further, the exhibition may happen in a closed or indoor environment or in an outdoor environment. The immersive display may be a display where the user may be a part of a virtual reality environment or a digital world. The immersive 3D display may enable the user to view a place or exhibition from a remote location as virtually being part of it.
An objective of the present disclosure is to provide a 3D immersive display system for providing or presenting an immersive display to the user.
An objective of the present disclosure is to provide a three-dimensional based display for exhibitions to the users. An exhibition may be a display of products or services in a location such as a hall or in an open ground.
Another objective of the present disclosure is to provide a platform or system for providing a web based immersive display of exhibitions to a plurality of users.
Another objective of the present disclosure is to provide an augmented reality or virtual reality based immersive display systems for exhibitions for enabling the users to attend the exhibitions from anywhere and at anytime by entering login credential on their computing device.
Another objective of the present disclosure is to enable user to visit any exhibition anytime from anywhere. In general, exhibitions happen for couple of days and only a limited number of people may visit that. By using the disclosed systems, the user having valid login credentials may access the exhibition can visit the exhibition anytime from anywhere.
An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a web based immersive display system. The web based immersive display system includes an access managing module configured to authorize an access to view a plurality of exhibitions to a user based on valid login credential; one or more three-dimensional (3D) scanners configured to scan various parts of at least one of the plurality of exhibitions in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images; and a display managing module configured to: create a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images; and display the 3D immersive display to the user; and a database configured to store users’login credential information, information of the plurality of exhibition, 3D immersive display, and the plurality of scanned images.
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, the users’login credential information, information of the plurality of exhibition, and images are stored on a storage device located remotely.
According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the one or more 3D scanners comprising at least one of an object scanner, an indoor scanner, an outdoor scanner and an aerial scanner.
According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the user accesses the exhibitions via a web browser.
According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the user enters the login credentials on the computing device.
According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the database is located remotely from the computing device of the user.
Another embodiment of the present disclosure provides an augmented reality and virtual reality based immersive display system comprising: an access managing module configured to authorize an access to view a plurality of exhibitions to a user based on valid login credential, wherein the user enters the login credentials on the computing device; one or more three-dimensional (3D) scanners configured to scan various parts of the exhibitions in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images; and a display managing module configured to: create a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images; and display the 3D immersive display to the user.
Another embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method for presenting an immersive display of an exhibition to a user, the method comprising: authorizing an access to a web based immersive display based system to the user based on one or more login credentials entered on a mobile computing device by the user; scanning various part of the exhibition in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images; creating a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images; displaying the 3D immersive display to the user; and storing the 3D immersive display, the plurality of images, users’login credentials, and information of the exhibition in a database.
A further embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method for viewing an exhibition on a computing device, the method comprising: accessing a web based immersive display system on the computing device by entering valid one or more login credentials; receiving a 3D immersive display based on a plurality of scanned images of the exhibition from a server comprising a storage device; viewing the 3D immersive display of the exhibition on the computing device; and storing the 3D immersive display, the plurality of images, users’login credentials, and information of the exhibition in a database.

The recitation of numerical ranges by endpoints includes all numbers within that range (e.g., 1 to 5 includes 1, 1.5, 2, 2.75, 3, 3.80, 4, and 5) .

The following detailed description should be read with reference to the drawings, in which similar elements in different drawings are identified with the same reference numbers. The drawings, which are not necessarily to scale, depict illustrative embodiments and are not intended to limit the scope of the disclosure.
FIG. 1 illustrates an exemplary environment 100 where various embodiments of the present disclosure may function. As shown, the environment 100 primarily includes a user 102, a computing device 104 comprising a web based immersive display system 106, and a server 108. The user 102 may register with the web based immersive display system 106 by entering one or more personal details such as a name, an age, a location, a sex, and so forth on an interface of the computing device 104. The user 102 can be any user with authorized login credentials for accessing an exhibition or a virtual view of a location via the web based immersive display system 106. Hereinafter, the web based immersive display system 106 may also be referred as an augmented reality and virtual reality based immersive display system 106 without change in its meaning. The web based immersive display system 106 allows the user 102 to view an exhibition on the computing device 104 by entering valid login credentials from anywhere and at anytime. The user 1-2 may not be required to physically visit the exhibition for viewing it. The user 102 may be presented with a three-dimensional (3D) immersive display including a virtual view of the exhibition by the web based immersive display system 106. The examples of the exhibition may include a painting exhibition, a museum exhibition, and so forth. Further, an exhibition may be a display of products or services in an indoor area such as a hall, or in an outdoor area such as a ground. Further, the web based immersive display system 106 may be an application installed on the computing device 104. In alternative embodiments, the user 102 may access the web based immersive display system 106 via a website URL on a web browser such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and so forth on the computing device 104. In some embodiments, the web based immersive display system 106 may be a software application installed on the computing device 104. Further, the web based immersive display system 106 may be software, hardware, firmware, and combination of these. In some embodiments, the computing device 104 may be a device such as, but not limited to, a smart phone, a tablet computer, a television, a laptop, a smart watch, a smart TV, a computer, and so forth.
First the user 102 may require registering with the web based immersive display system 106 by entering one or more personal details like age, sex, name, location, etc. Then the web based immersive display system 106 may issue a login credential to the user 102. In some embodiments, a third party or the server 108 issues the login credentials to the user 102 for accessing the web based immersive display system 106. The user 102 may access the web based immersive display system 106 by entering his/her valid login credentials on the computing device 104. The user 102 may then choose or select an exhibition or a location for which the user 102 may want to view a 3D immersive display on the computing device 104. Based on a selection, the web based immersive display system 106 may present a 3D immersive view to the user 102. The web based immersive display system 106 may create the 3D immersive view of the exhibition in real-time based on one or more scanned images created by one or more 3D scanners. In some embodiments, the web based immersive display system 106 may retrieve the 3D immersive view of the exhibition from a storage device on the sever 108 for presenting to the user 102. Further, the user 102 may feel being as a part of the 3D immersive display of the exhibition. The various 3D scanners such as, but not limited to, an object scanner, an outdoor scanner, an aerial scanner and an indoor scanner may create scanned images and based on the scanned images, the web based immersive display system 106 may create the 3D immersive display of the exhibition for the user 102. The 3D scanned displays, scanned images, login credentials of the user 102 may be saved either locally on the computing device 104 or on the storage device of the server 108. The server 108 may be a remotely located computation and storage device.
FIG. 2 illustrates a block diagram depicting various system elements of an exemplary web based immersive display system 202, in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown, the web based immersive display system 202 comprises an access managing module 204, one or more 3D scanners 206, a display managing module 208, and a database 210. In some embodiments, a user accesses the exhibitions by accessing the web based immersive display system 202 via a web browser on a computing device such as a smart phone. The user may view an exhibition in real-time when the exhibition is actually happening. In some embodiments, the user may view the exhibition at a later time may be after the exhibition has finished. The user may view the exhibition anytime and from anywhere by using a mobile phone comprising the web based immersive display system 202. In some embodiments, the user may access the web based immersive display system 202 via a web browser application on the computing device.
The access managing module 204 may be configured to authorize an access to view a plurality of exhibitions to a user based on valid login credential of the user. The login credential may include, but are not limited to, a password, a login identifier (ID) , a name, a location, and so forth. post authorization, the user may gain access to one or more functions of the web based immersive display system 202.
The one or more three-dimensional (3D) scanners 206 may be configured to scan various parts of at least one of the plurality of exhibitions in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images. The 3D scanners may include, but are not limited to, an indoor scanner, an object scanner, and an outdoor/aerial scanner. The object scanner may be used to scan objects placed inside a room, hall, and so forth where exhibition is happening. The indoor scanner may scan an indoor of any room or hall where the exhibition is happening or happened to create a virtual 3D map of the inside area. The outdoor/aerial scanner may scan an outside area of any place or the exhibition to create a virtual 3D map of the outside area. The 3D scanners may create point map or point cloud of the objects, indoor, and/or outdoor of the exhibition or a place or a location.
Further, the display managing module 208 is configured to create a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images in real-time or non-real time. The 3D immersive display may be scanned model of the exhibition. The display managing module 208 is also configured to display the 3D immersive display to the user.
The database 210 may be configured to store users’login credential information, information of the plurality of exhibition, 3D immersive display, and the plurality of scanned images. In some embodiments, the database may be remotely located from the computing device.
FIG. 3 illustrates a flowchart of a method 300 of viewing an exhibition on a computing device, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. At step 302, a user accesses a web based immersive display system such as the system 202 of FIG. 2, on a computing device such as a mobile phone. The user may register and/or enter one or more valid and authorized login credentials for accessing the web based immersive display system 202. Further, there may be multiple exhibitions available for viewing then the user may select at least one of the multiple exhibitions. Then at step 304, the user receives a 3D immersive display including a plurality of scanned images of the exhibition. The 3D scanners 206 of the system 202 may create the 3D scanned images of an exhibition and the display managing module 208 may create the 3D immersive display of the exhibition.
Then at step 306, the user views the 3D immersive display on the computing device. The user may view on a screen of the mobile phone. The web based immersive display system 202 may use augmented reality and virtual reality techniques for creating the 3D immersive display for the user. Thereafter at step 308, the scanned images, login credentials, 3D immersive display, exhibition information may be stored in the database 210 of the system 202.
FIG. 4 illustrates a flowchart of a method 400 for presenting an immersive display to a user, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The method initiates at step 402 by receiving and authorizing login credentials of a user for allowing access to a web based immersive display system 202 of Fig. 2. The user may only be allowed access if the received login credentials are valid. Based on a selection of exhibition received from the user, the system 202 may scan various parts of the exhibition for creating scanned images at step 404. In some embodiments, the system 202 may retrieve the 3D scanned images from the database when the exhibition is viewed after its finish time. Then at step 406, the display managing module 208 creates a 3D immersive display by combining the scanned images for display to the user. At step 408, the 3D immersive display is presented to the user. Thereafter, at step 408, the 3D immersive display, scanned images, login credential information of the user, computing devices’information, and exhibition information is stored in the database 210.
The present disclosure provides an augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) based immersive display system for generating an online or an offline realistic view of a location such as an exhibition. The user may view the exhibition from anywhere.
Further, the present disclosure enables more users to view the exhibition as not every user have to go to a venue of the exhibition physically. The users may view on their computing devices from anywhere irrespective of the location. The users may only require a suitable network for accessing the web based or AR/VR based immersive display system. The network may be the Internet.
Further, the present disclosure provides a flexibility to the users for viewing any exhibition or location or any event based on his/her time and place convenience. The user may view the exhibition or location or any event at anytime from anywhere.
Further, the web based immersive display is configured to generate an immersive display of any place or location of interest to users such as, their home, office, a party, a function, and so forth.
Embodiments of the disclosure are also described above with reference to flowchart illustrations and/or block diagrams of methods and systems. It will be understood that each block of the flowchart illustrations and/or block diagrams, and combinations of blocks in the flowchart illustrations and/or block diagrams, may be implemented by computer program instructions. These computer program instructions may be provided to a processor of a general purpose computer, special purpose computer, or other programmable data processing apparatus to produce a machine, such that the instructions, which execute via the processor of the computer or other programmable data processing apparatus, create means for implementing the acts specified in the flowchart and/or block diagram block or blocks. These computer program instructions may also be stored in a computer-readable memory that can direct a computer or other programmable data processing apparatus to operate in a particular manner, such that the instructions stored in the computer-readable memory produce an article of manufacture including instruction means which implement the acts specified in the flowchart and/or block diagram block or blocks. The computer program instructions may also be loaded onto a computer or other programmable data processing apparatus to cause a series of operations to be performed on the computer or other programmable apparatus to produce a computer implemented process such that the instructions which execute on the computer or other programmable apparatus provide steps for implementing the acts specified in the flowchart and/or block diagram block or blocks.
In addition, methods and functions described herein are not limited to any particular sequence, and the acts or blocks relating thereto can be performed in other sequences that are appropriate. For example, described acts or blocks may be performed in an order other than that specifically disclosed, or multiple acts or blocks may be combined in a single act or block.
While the invention has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be the most practical and various embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not to be limited to the disclosed embodiments, but on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements.
Claims (12)
- A web based immersive display system comprising:an access managing module configured to authorize an access to view a plurality of exhibitions to a user based on valid login credential;one or more three-dimensional (3D) scanners configured to scan various parts of at least one of the plurality of exhibitions in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images;a display managing module configured to:create a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images; anddisplay the 3D immersive display to the user; anda database configured to store users’ login credential information, information of the plurality of exhibition, 3D immersive display, and the plurality of scanned images.
- The web based immersive display system of claim 1, wherein the one or more 3D scanners comprising at least one of an object scanner, an indoor scanner, an aerial scanner and an outdoor scanner.
- The web based immersive display system of claim 1, wherein the user accesses the exhibitions via a web browser.
- The web based immersive display system of claim 1, wherein the user enters the login credentials on the computing device.
- The web based immersive display system of claim 4, wherein the database is located remotely from the computing device of the user.
- An augmented reality and virtual reality based immersive display system comprising:an access managing module configured to authorize an access to view a plurality of exhibitions to a user based on valid login credential, wherein the user enters the login credentials on the computing device;one or more three-dimensional (3D) scanners configured to scan various parts of the exhibitions in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images; anda display managing module configured to:create a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images; anddisplay the 3D immersive display to the user.
- The augmented reality and virtual reality based immersive display system of claim 6, wherein users’ login credential information, information of the plurality of exhibition, and images are stored on a storage device located remotely.
- The augmented reality and virtual reality based immersive display system of claim 6, wherein the one or more 3D scanners comprising at least one of an object scanner, an indoor scanner, an aerial scanner and an outdoor scanner.
- The augmented reality and virtual reality based immersive display system of claim 6, wherein the user accesses the exhibitions via a web browser.
- The augmented reality and virtual reality based immersive display system of claim 6, wherein the user enters the login credentials on the computing device.
- A method for presenting an immersive display of an exhibition to a user, the method comprising:authorizing the user to access to a web based immersive display based system based on one or more login credentials entered on a mobile computing device by the user;scanning various parts of the exhibition in real-time for generating a plurality of scanned images;creating a 3D immersive display based on the plurality of scanned images;displaying the 3D immersive display to the user; andstoring the 3D immersive display, the plurality of scanned images, users’ login credentials, and information of the exhibition in a database.
- A method for viewing an exhibition on a computing device, the method comprising:accessing a web based immersive display system on the computing device by entering valid one or more login credentials;receiving a 3D immersive display based on a plurality of scanned images of the exhibition from a server comprising a storage device;viewing the 3D immersive display of the exhibition on the computing device; andstoring the 3D immersive display, the plurality of images, users’ login credentials, and information of the exhibition in a database.
