Abstract

The present invention is an ergonomic and rugged electronic tablet computer cover which can communicate with the 3D laser scanning and geographical measurement devices used in land surveying and implementation works and which can be integrated to said devices via accessories, which is used by leaving the tablet screen open, which enables communication between the tablet computer and the measuring and scanning devices, enables real-time on-site data recording and processing simultaneously, which has handles (3,4) on the right and left sides for carrying, measuring and mobile use, an embedded software system, a database software, hardware components and a tablet housing (7) designed to suit the tablet form and components. The present invention provides innovation in the documentation method as it can perform on-site measurement and simultaneous digital processing in the fields of surveying, mapping, construction, architecture, archeology, restoration, mining and geophysics.

Description

ERGONOMIC AND ELECTRONIC TABLET COVER WHICH CAN BE INTEGRATED WITH THE GEOGRAPHICAL MEASURING AND LASER SCANNING DEVICES USED IN LAND WORKS
Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to an ergonomic and durable (rugged) electronic tablet computer cover having a keyboard and signal system, which can be integrated to 3D laser scanning and geographical measuring devices used in the fields of surveying, mapping, construction, architecture, archeology, restoration, geology, mining and geophysics; which is used as a cover for tablet computers that are suitable for using in land works (Figure 1 ); which enables communication between land measuring, scanning devices and the tablet computer, which also enables simultaneous data recording on site, and enables the recorded data to be processed; which can be used in research, design, documentation and application projects; which is customized for mobile drawing by means of the magnetic tablet pen placed in the locked pen stand thereon; which eliminates the need for office work by enabling the final product to be obtained on site.
Prior Art
Known electronic covers are designed for indoor use and are used in the field of medicine, for casual use or in the toy industry. The covers for casual use are designed for a tablet computer to be used as a desktop; the ones used in the field of medicine are used for the purpose of monitoring the health data of patients and they operate by being integrated with the measuring devices in healthcare; the electronic covers used in the toy industry establish interactive relations with the user through senses such as touching and hearing.
There are no electronic covers which are designed for land work professionals, which have the characteristics of the electronic land work tablet cover and which can be integrated with on-site measuring devices

The control units in the market which are used together with land work measuring devices are used solely for the purpose of importing data and only the most basic functions can be carried out in terms of data processing; however, said units are not customized to obtain the final product. They do not possess critical characteristics such as the sufficient screen size, screen sensitivity and magnetic pen, which are required for obtaining the final product. Furthermore, they do not meet ergonomic requirements and they are not electronic covers; rather, they are devices with mobile computer circuits which operate as a whole with its own case.
There is no mobile digital platform in the field which is customized to draw on and which can communicate with land measuring devices. Nowadays, the data acquired from the measuring devices in the field of land works can be processed on paper, as was the case in the past. The drawings and reports obtained by processing the data on paper are archived by being scanned in high resolution in the office environment and the drawings are digitally redone in the office environment. Technical problems the invention aims to solve
In conventional documentation systems, in cases where measuring is performed on-site and data processing is performed in the office, problems in terms of obtaining the final product due to incomplete data recording; the requirement for scanning and digitally reconstructing drawings in the office in cases where measuring is performed on site and technical drawing is performed on paper on site; and the requirement for compiling the information and documents drawn paper on site or during the storage of used technological devices, and adapting said information and documents to the digital reporting and documentation system are time consuming efforts which are costly, which do not utilize technology efficiently and which cause the quality of the final product to be low. The system of the present invention solves the aforementioned technical problems by the integration of the electronic cover invention to land works.

The microcontroller processes the data coming from the keyboard and the sensors, and transmits the processes date to the tablet PC via wired or wireless connection.
The keyboard circuit sends the button pressing information to the microcontroller.
The temperature and humidity sensor measures the temperature and humidity of the environment where the circuit card is located and enables

USB multiplexer creates a connection point for the Microcontroller and 105 creates several data transfer connection points for the tablet computer.

Description of the invention

It has three main components: these components are the body which consists of the
130 housing (7) enfolding the tablet where the tablet and the electronic circuit is nested, and the area where the function keys (5) and the locked pen stand (8) is located; handles (3) on the right and left where the data reception and delete keys (4) used with the measuring device are located; and the circuit component comprising the electronic circuit pressed on PCB and
135 the keyboard circuit and independent buttons connected thereto, and the USB multiplexer.

The tablet computers with which the electronic cover communicates are computers which have 4GB or more RAM, 350 cd/m2 or higher screen brightness, which have an operating temperature range between at least 0 °C and +35°C, which have at least an IP 54 value; the land measuring and scanning devices may be controlled by a completely different device and the electronic cover is connected to said tablet computer and measuring or scanning device through the appropriate way of communication selected between wired or wireless connections.
In order to perform documentation via vectorial drawing, the electronic tablet cover of the present invention is required to be placed on the tablet computer, the tablet computer needs to be connected to the land work measuring device to be used, the tablet computer and the measuring device need to be activated by turning them on, measuring needs to be performed via the button (4) on the right handle of the electronic cover while mobile in walking mode or manually, faulty measurements need to be deleted by pressing the button (4) on the left handle, the performed measurements need to be viewed inside the application where they will be automatically processed by the add-on software of the present invention, an automatic coordinate plane is created with the function button (5) on the area where the coordinate data is recorded when the measurement is completed and vectorial drawing needs to be performed on the coordinate plane by utilizing the function buttons (5) of the electronic keyboard and the magnetic pen (2) of the tablet.
In order to perform documentation via photogrammetry, the point clouds created by using unmanned aerial vehicles and laser scanning technologies in the field need to be superposed, the blind spots in the
SUBSTITUTE SHEETS (RULE 26) created point cloud need to be detected by the software of the invention and the information on which scanning device is to be placed where for creating the perfect model needs to be created, the three dimensional model needs to be converted into an orthophoto for completing the 175 scanning, the relevant vectorial drawing application needs to be launched and the orthophoto needs to be placed at the correct coordinates by using at least three reference points detected by the aforementioned land measuring devices, vectorial drawing needs to be performed over the orthophoto and vectorial drawings need to be made in areas where there 180 are corrupt pixels or where foreign objects are obstructing the view. Both methods allow the final product to be obtained on site.
The database application is developed for digital archiving and utilization, and in order to use said application, the tablet computer on which the
185 cover of the present invention is placed, needs to be opened (6), the database needs to be accessed via the function key (5), the digital files, numerical data and graphs created for analyses, reporting and drawing actions performed on site need to be named and classified in a way that they will include the date and content information and they need to be
190 transferred to the database, the digital files of the actions performed in an office environment such as the interpretation of the findings and analyses need to be transferred from the tablet computer to the database on another computer through a cloud account or by copying the database to another computer and, the files needed on site need to be viewed or used via the
195 search land feature which is an interface software added on to the database.
Industrial implementation of the present invention
The cover components are made of metal, plastic pieces and the 200 electronic circuit system. The processing of the metal materials, molding the plastic materials and pressing the electronic circuit onto the PCB and placing it on the relevant place on the cover have an application manner similar to the production of rugged electronic devices.

Claims

1) The present invention is a documentation method with vectorial drawing in the fields of mapping-cadastre, construction, architecture, archeology, restoration, geology and geophysics, characterized in that; -The electronic tablet cover of the present invention is covered over tablet computer,
-The tablet computer is connected to the land measuring device to be used,
-The tablet computer and the measuring device are activated by turning them on,
-Measuring is performed via the button on the right handle of the electronic cover while mobile in walking mode or manually, and faulty measurements are deleted by the button on the left handle,
-Performed measurements are viewed inside the application where they will be automatically processed by the add-on software of the present invention,
-An automatic coordinate plane is created with the function button on the area where the coordinate data is recorded when the measurement is completed,
-A millimetric grid is added to the background of the software to serve as reference to the drawing and the grid is named according to the utilized geographical coordinate system,
-Vectorial drawing is performed on the coordinate plane by utilizing the function buttons of the electronic keyboard and the magnetic pen of the tablet.
2) The present invention is a documentation method with photogrammetry in the fields of mapping-cadastre, construction, architecture, archeology, restoration, geology and geophysics, characterized in that;
SUBSTITUTE SHEETS (RULE 26) -The point clouds created by using unmanned aerial vehicles and laser scanning technologies in the field are superposed,
-The blind spots in the created point cloud are detected by the software of the invention and the information on which scanning device is to be placed where for creating the perfect model is created,
-The three dimensional model is converted into an orthophoto for completing the scanning,
-The relevant vectorial drawing application is launched and the orthophoto is placed at the correct coordinates by using at least three reference points detected by the land measuring devices mentioned in Claim 1 ,
-Vectorial drawing is performed over the orthophoto and vectorial drawings are made in areas where there are corrupt pixels or where foreign objects are obstructing the view.
3) The present invention is a method used for the digital archiving and utilization of the documents on site via the database software in the fields of mapping-cadastre, construction, architecture, archeology, restoration, geology and geophysics, characterized in that;
-The tablet computer, on which the electronic cover of the present invention put, is turned on,
-The database is accessed via the function key,
-The digital files, numerical data and graphs created for the analyses, reporting and drawing actions performed on site, which are mentioned in Claim 1 and Claim 2, are named and classified in a way that they will include the date and content information and they are transferred to the database,
-The digital files of the actions performed in an office environment such as the interpretation of the findings and analyses are transferred from the tablet computer to the database on another computer through a cloud account or by copying the database to another computer,
-The files needed on site are viewed or used via the search feature which is interface software added on to the database.
4) The present invention is an electronic cover characterized in that it
