Abstract

The present invention relates to a control method suitable to be used in a household appliance system (1) comprising a modem (2), at least one household appliance (3) that can connect to the Internet via the modem (2), a mobile device (4) that can access the household appliance (3) via the Internet and that can control the household appliance (3), and a server (5) that controls the data transmission between the modem (2) and the household appliances (3) and the mobile device (4).

Description

A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a control method for using in a household appliance system comprising household appliances that can connect to a wireless local area network (WLAN).
Today, there is a wireless local area network in almost every home. Wireless local area networks created by means of modems enable electronic devices, especially smartphones and computers, to connect to the Internet. There are also household appliances that can connect to the wireless local area network in the house by means of a card provided thereon. Thus, the household appliances can be controlled by the user by means of electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets that are suitable for installing applications. By means of the application, the user can select the functions of the household appliances, transfer the selected programs and functions to the household appliance and get the information related to the operational status of the household appliance as notifications via the electronic device he/she uses. The user can check the operational status of the household appliances when not at home. It is critical that, in particular, the cooling devices operate in cases such as the user going on vacation, wherein the user will not be at home for a long period of time. The foodstuffs in the cooling device may spoil in case of a malfunction or power outage. Since the user mostly is not aware of the power outage, he/she may consume the foodstuffs or may not respond to the power outage in time.
In the state of the art International Patent Application Document No. WO2014046925, a method is disclosed, wherein the user is notified of the power outage.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a method for controlling a household appliance system.
The control method realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention and explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof is suitable to be used in a household appliance system comprises a modem for distributing the Internet connection; at least one household appliance that connects to the Internet by means of the modem; a mobile device that enables the household appliance to be remotely controlled, and a server that enables the data transmission between the modem and the household appliances and the mobile device to be controlled. By means of the mobile device and the household appliances with Internet connectivity, the household appliances can be remotely controlled and the user can be informed about the household appliances when not at home.
The control method of the present invention comprises the steps of periodically checking the connection between the modem and the household appliances and sending a warning to the user if the connection between the modem and the household appliance is interrupted. When disconnected from the modem, the server sends a warning to the mobile device, thus enabling the user to be informed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method comprises the steps of waiting for a certain time when the connection between the modem and the household appliance is interrupted and sending a warning to the user. When disconnection is detected, the warning is sent to the user after waiting for a time predetermined by the user. If the disconnection continues after the said time elapses, the user is warned.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system having the server that calculates the time elapsing from the moment of the disconnection between the modem and the household appliance to the moment of reconnection and that stores the said time in the memory thereof. Thus, the user can be informed of how frequent and for how long the household appliances have been deenergized.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method comprises the step of transmitting to the mobile device the information on the operational status of the household appliances when the connection between the modem and the household appliance is established again. Thus, the user is enabled to be informed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system that can connect to the server and that has a database for storing data such as malfunction, function, usage information, etc. of the household appliances and user information.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method comprises the steps of displaying the status of the household appliances on the mobile device when the connection between the modem and the server is established again and of controlling the household appliances.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system comprising a cooling device.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system comprising a cooking device.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system comprising a washer.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system comprising a dryer.
The electronic device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figure, where:

The control method is suitable to be used in a household appliance system (1) comprising a modem (2), at least one household appliance (3) that can connect to the Internet via the modem (2), a mobile device (4) that can access the household appliance (3) via the Internet and that can control the household appliance (3), and a server (5) that controls the data transmission between the modem (2) and the household appliances (3) and the mobile device (4); the control method comprising the steps of periodically checking the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliances (3) and sending a warning to the user by means of the mobile device (4) if the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliance (3) is interrupted. By means of the control method, the server (5) sends a warning to the mobile device (4) if the connection with the modem (2) is interrupted for any reason. Problems related to power outage or the modem (2) are relayed to the user at the moment of the outage.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method comprises the steps of waiting for a time predetermined by the producer if the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliance (3) is detected to be interrupted and sending a warning to the user if the connection cannot be established again within the said time. When the connection between the household appliance (3) and the modem (2) is interrupted, it is waited for a predetermined time taking into consideration that the disconnection may be temporary. If the connection cannot be established within the said time, the user is warned about the disconnection. Thus, the user is prevented from being warned in cases of short-term disconnections.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system (1) having the server (5) that calculates the time elapsing until the moment of reconnection if the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliance (3) is interrupted, and that transmits the relevant data to the mobile device (4). Thus, the user can be informed of for how long the household appliances (3) have been deenergized. The user can check the status of foodstuffs or items in the household appliances (3) operating before the power outage.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method comprises the step of transmitting the information related to the household appliance (3) to the mobile device (4) after establishing connection again with the modem (2). The operational status of the household appliances (3) after the disconnection, for example operational functions such as the inner temperature of the cooling device, is relayed to the user. Thus, the user can intervene with the household appliances (3).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is suitable to be used in the household appliance system (1) that can connect to the server (5) and that has a database (6) for storing the user and appliance data. The usage properties, functions, usage types of the household appliances (3) as well as the user information are stored in the database (6). Thus, the service personnel can respond to malfunctions in time and help with the development process.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method comprises the steps of controlling, operating/stopping the household appliances (3) by the mobile device (4) according to the household appliance (3) data after the connection between the modem (2) and the server (5) is established. The user can control the household appliances (3) over the Internet by means of the mobile device (4).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is used on a cooling device.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is used on a cooking device.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is used on a washer.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the control method is used on a dryer.
By means of the control method of the present invention, the user is enabled to receive information about the household appliances (3) that he/she can remotely control in case of a power outage. Problems related to power outage or the modem (2) are relayed to the user at the moment of the outage. When the connection is established again, the user is informed of the time of disconnection with the modem (2). Thus, the user is informed about situations such as power outage, etc. and can take measures on time.

Claims (10)

  1. A control method suitable to be used in a household appliance system (1) comprising a modem (2), at least one household appliance (3) that can connect to the Internet via the modem (2), a mobile device (4) that can access the household appliance (3) via the Internet and that can control the household appliance (3), and a server (5) that controls the data transmission between the modem (2) and the household appliances (3) and the mobile device (4); the control method comprising the steps of
    - periodically checking the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliances (3), and
    - sending a warning to the user by means of the mobile device (4) if the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliance (3) is interrupted.
  2. A control method as in Claim 1, comprising the steps of waiting for a time predetermined by the producer if the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliance (3) is detected to be interrupted and sending a warning to the user if the connection cannot be established again within the said time.
  3. A control method as in Claim 1 and Claim 2, suitable to be used in the household appliance system (1) having the server (5) that calculates the time elapsing until the moment of reconnection if the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliance (3) is interrupted, and that transmits the relevant data to the mobile device (4).
  4. A control method as in any one of the above claims, comprising the step of transmitting the household appliance (3) data to the mobile device (4) when the connection between the modem (2) and the household appliance (3) is established again.
  5. A control method as in any one of the above claims, suitable to be used in the household appliance system (1) that can connect to the server (5) and that has a database (6) for storing the user and appliance data.
  6. A control method as in any one of the above claims, comprising the steps of controlling, operating/stopping the household appliances (3) by the mobile device (4) according to the household appliance (3) data after the connection between the modem (2) and the server (5) is established.
  7. A cooling device suitable to be controlled by a method as in any one of the above claims.
  8. A cooking device suitable to be controlled by a method as in any one of the above claims.
  9. A washer suitable to be controlled by a method as in any one of the above claims.
  10. A dryer suitable to be controlled by a method as in any one of the above claims.
