Abstract

The subject matter of the present patent, which belongs to the field of personal safety articles, relates to a system for monitoring persons working at elevated locations, such as on towers, between posts, in confined spaces, during climbing activities, on structures on roofs, life lines, for sports and industrial mountain climbing, etc. The system uses electronic fall-detecting equipment (2) that is mounted on the safety belt and continuously measures the movements of the user (3). In the event of a fall, or of a period without any user movements, the equipment transmits a warning signal by radio-frequency, according to the Bluetooth standard, to the smartphone or tablet (6), and a software program can then collect location data and transmit them to a central monitoring unit (7) over the cellular telephone network. The central monitoring unit (7) then initiates rescue activities (8) to the aid of the user.
