Abstract

A method and device for keyword search are disclosed. The method comprises: receiving a translation instruction at least carrying information regarding a target language and a keyword; translating the keyword into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword; providing the translation of the keyword to a terminal for displaying the translation in a search input box; and searching the translation when receiving a search instruction for the translation. The device comprises a receiving module, a translating module, a translation providing module and a searching module. Simplifying the process of language transformation for search, improving the efficiency of search, avoiding the waste of terminal resources, and extending the standby time of the terminal.

Description

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR KEYWORD SEARCH
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
This application claims the priority benefit of Chinese Patent Application No. 201310469818.3 filed on October 10, 2013, the content of which are incorporated by reference herein in entirety for all proposes.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The application relates to the field of network technology, and particularly, to a method and device for keyword search.
BACKGROUND
With rapid development of network technologies, a search engine technology has gradually become one of the most popular technologies concerned by people. As a system for providing search services for users, a search engine gathers information from the Internet by specific computer programs according to certain strategies, and then organizes and processes the gathered information.
The search engine generally makes search in strict accordance with the language of an input keyword. When the input keyword is a Chinese character, the obtained results of search are usually related information in Chinese websites. However, if there is no appropriate result of search in the Chinese websites, it is often required to search foreign websites. In this case, a user needs to input a corresponding keyword in
English or other languages for making another search.
When a user transforms the language for making another search, it is required to input a corresponding keyword in English or other languages. The operations are complex and tedious and the efficiency of search is low, thereby causing the waste of terminal resources.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
To simplify the process of search and improve the efficiency of search, embodiments of the application provide a method and device for keyword search, and the technical solution is as follows.
In one aspect, a method for keyword search is provided, including:
receiving a translation instruction carrying information regarding a target language and a keyword from a terminal;
translating the keyword into the target language to obtain a translation of the keyword;
providing the translation of the keyword to the terminal; and
searching the translation when a search instruction for the translation is received from the terminal.
In another aspect, a device for keyword search is provided, including:
a receiving module configured to receive a translation instruction at least carrying information regarding a target language and a keyword from a terminal; a translating module configured to translate the keyword into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword;
a translation providing module configured to provide the translation of the keyword to the terminal; and
a searching module configured to search the translation when a search instruction for the translation is received from the terminal.
According to the method and device for keyword search provided by the embodiments of the application, the translation of a keyword is directly obtained according to a translation instruction for the keyword during the search process, the translation may be displayed in a search input box intuitively, and search may be performed according to the translation, so that the process of language transformation for search is simplified, the efficiency of search is improved, the waste of terminal resources is avoided, and the standby time of the terminal is extended.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
To make technical solutions and advantages of the application more clear, the implementations of the application will be further illustrated in details in connection with accompanying figures and embodiments hereinafter.
Fig. 1 is a flow diagram showing a method for keyword search according to an embodiment of the application. Referring to Fig. 1, the method includes the following steps.
At step 101, a translation instruction at least carrying information regarding a target language and a keyword is received from a terminal.
At step 102, the keyword is translated into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword.
At step 103, the translation of the keyword is provided to a terminal so that the translation is displayed in the search input box.
At step 104, a search is performed for the translation when a search instruction for the translation is received from the terminal.
According to the method provided by the embodiment of the application, the translation of a keyword is directly obtained based on a translation instruction for the keyword during the search process, the translation may be displayed in a search input box intuitively, and a search may be performed according to the translation, so that the process of language transformation for search is simplified, resulting in that the efficiency of search is improved, the waste of terminal resources is avoided, and the standby time of the terminal is extended.
Fig.2 is a flow diagram showing a method for keyword search according to an embodiment of the application. Referring to Fig. 2, the method includes: At step 200, a search interface for providing a search input box and an operation option for translating a keyword is displayed on a terminal.
In the embodiment of the application, a server provides a search interface for the terminal, and display items in the search interface are set by the server and may be adjusted by a terminal user. The search interface at least includes a search input box, a search option and an operation option for translating a keyword. The search interface may further include search classification options, such as "Webpage", "Picture", "Video", "Music", "Ask", "Encyclopedia", "News", "Map", "More" and so on.
Fig.3 a is a schematic diagram showing a search interface according to an embodiment of the application. Referring to Fig.3a, the operation option for translating a keyword is displayed in a form of button. This button may be positioned in any area in the search interface. In Fig.3a, the description will be given by taking the button being positioned in the search input box as an example.
At step 201, a keyword input by a user into the search input box in the terminal is received.
At step 202, a setup option for a target language and an operation option for translating the keyword into the target language is displayed when a trigger operation to the operation option for translating the keyword is detected.
In the embodiment of the application, when a trigger operation to the operation option for translating the keyword is detected by the terminal, it is determined that the keyword inside the search input box is to be translated. To guarantee the accuracy of translation, the server provides a setup option for the target language, so that a user may set the target language to be translated for making translation according to the target language in the subsequent steps.
Further, the setup option may further provide the setup for a source language in addition to the setup of the target language to be translated. Fig.3b is a schematic diagram showing a search interface according to an embodiment of the application. Referring to Fig.3b, the setup option includes a setup button for the source language and a setup button for the target language. When being activated, each setup button may show a list including multiple languages available for a user to choose. Further, the search interface further includes an operation option for translating the keyword into the target language. As shown in Fig.3b, the operation option may be positioned within a certain range from the position of the setup option, for a user to choose. Actually, the operation option may be positioned at any position near the setup option, and the position of the operation option is not limited in the embodiment of the application.
At step 203, the target language is acquired when a setup operation for the target language is detected in the setup option.
Specifically, at step 203, if setup operations for the source language and the target language are detected, the source language and the target language are acquired; and if only a setup operation for the target language is detected, the target language is acquired.
For a Chinese operating system, the source language and the target language may be set as Chinese and English in default. If no operation to the translation setup option is detected, Chinese is used as the source language, and English is used as the target language. Certainly, for an operating system of other languages, the default languages may be in other forms. For example, for a French operating system, the source language and the target language may be set as French and English in default, respectively.
At step 204, a translation instruction carrying information regarding the target language and the keyword input by the user is sent from the terminal to the server when a trigger operation to the operation option for translating the keyword into the target language is detected.
At step 205, the keyword is translated by the server into the target language according to the target language and the keyword indicated in the translation instruction to obtain the translation of the keyword when the translation instruction is received.
Specifically, at step 205, there may be the following ways for translating the keyword.
(1) The source language of the keyword is recognized, and then the keyword is translated into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword based on the syntax rules of the source language and the target language.
For keywords in some uncommon languages, a user may not know the specific languages the keyword belonging to so that mistakes may be caused during translation. Therefore, it is not necessary to set a source language during translation. Instead, only the keyword and the target language are sent to the server, and the server identifies the source language of the keyword and performs the subsequent translation. Thus, it is possible to translate a keyword in an unknown language into a target language. (2) When the translation instruction further carries information regarding a source language, the keyword is translated into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword by using the syntax rules of the source language and the target language.
Certainly, in most cases, a user is aware of the language of a keyword. Therefore, a source language and a target language may be selected from a language setup option for translation.
When a user does not make any choice from the language setup option, the source language and the target language may be regarded as default languages, and the server may make translation according to the default languages.
At step 206, the translation of the keyword and a display position of the translation are sent from the server to the terminal.
In the embodiment of the application, it will be described by taking the server sending not only the translation but also a display position of the translation as an example. The display position of the translation refers to the position where the translation is displayed on the search interface of the terminal. The display position of the translation may be a position inside the search input box where the original keyword is displayed, or a position near the keyword displayed inside the search input box. The display position of translation is not limited in the embodiment of the application.
Optionally, the step 206 may be replaced with the following step: the translation of the keyword is sent from the server to the terminal. Actually, the server can send the translation only without indicating the specific display position so as to allow the terminal to display the translation.
At step 207, the translation is displayed at the display position of the translation inside the search input box of the terminal when the translation and the translation display position are received.
To achieve an intuitive effect, in the embodiment of the application, the description will be given by taking the keyword inside the search input box being hidden and the translation being displayed at the position originally for displaying the keyword as an example. This display way is unlikely to cause confusion, and also provides a unique search language for the subsequent search process.
For example, Fig.3c is a schematic diagram showing a search interface according to an embodiment of the application. Taking the keyword as an example, a user can only search Chinese webpages by using the keyword in Chinese. To search English webpages, the user clicks a button "Translate". At this time, a language setup option is displayed in the interface. The user may set the source language as Chinese and set the target language as English, and then click a button "Automatically Translate" to trigger a translation instruction. The translation instruction carries information including a keyword " I^^LKH; " , a source language "Chinese" and a target language "English". When receiving the translation instruction, the server translates the keyword from Chinese into English to obtain the translation
"Array Antenna", and returns the translation to the terminal, so that the translation "Array Antenna" is displayed in the search input box of the terminal.
At step 208, a search instruction carrying information regarding the translation is sent from the terminal to the server when a trigger operation to the search option is detected.
At step 209, a search is conducted by the server according to the translation indicated in by the search instruction when the search instruction is received.
For the steps 200 to 209, the process may be actually regarded as a process of failing to obtain a satisfied result when searching by a keyword in a certain language and making a further search in another language. In this process, the translation of a keyword is acquired directly according to a translation instruction for the keyword during the search process. Then, the translation may be displayed in a search input box intuitively, and search may be performed according to the translation, so that the process of language transformation for search is simplified, the efficiency of search is improved, the waste of terminal resources is avoided, and the standby time of the terminal is extended.
Fig.4 is a diagram showing a structure of a device for keyword search according an embodiment of the application. Referring to Fig. 4, the device includes a receiving module 401, a translating module 402, a translation providing module 403 and a searching module 404 described as below.
The receiving module 401 is configured to receive from a terminal a translation instruction at least carrying information regarding a target language and a keyword input by a user for example inside a search input box.
The translating module 402 is configured to translate the keyword into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword.
The translation providing module 403 is configured to provide the translation of the keyword to a terminal.
The searching module 404 is configured to search according to the translation when a search instruction for the translation is received.
Optionally, the translating module 402 includes a first translating unit or a second translating unit described as below.
The first translating unit is configured to identify the source language of the keyword, and translate the keyword into the target language based on the syntax rules of the identified source language and the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword.
The second translating unit is configured to, when the translation instruction further carries information regarding a source language, translate the keyword into the target language based on the syntax rules of the source language and the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword.
Optionally, the device further includes a sending module configured to send the translation of the keyword and a display position of the translation to the terminal so that the translation is displayed at the display position inside the search input box of the terminal.
Optionally, the device further includes
a first option providing module configured to provide the terminal with an operation option for translating a keyword, a setup option for a target language, and an operation option for translating the keyword into the target language.
Optionally, the device further includes a second option providing module configured to provide the terminal with an operation option for translating a keyword, a setup option for a source language and a target language, and an operation option for translating the keyword from the source language into the target language.
It is to be noted that, for a device for searching a keyword according to the above embodiment, the division of the above functional modules is just exemplarily provided. In practice, the above functions may be distributed to functional modules as required. That is, the internal structure of the device may be divided into a plurality of functional modules to implement all or some of the functions described above. In addition, the device for keyword search provided by the above embodiment and the method for keyword search belong to a same conception, and the specific implementation process performed by the device for keyword search may be referred to the embodiments of the method and will not be repeated here. Referring to Fig.5, Fig.5 is a diagram showing a structure of a server according to an embodiment of the application. The server 500 may be in various forms according to specific configurations or performances. The server 500 may include one or more central processing units (CPU) 522 (for example, one or more processors) and memories 532, and one or more storage media 530 for storing applications 542 or data 544 (for example, one or more large-capacity storage devices). The memories 532 and the storage media 530 may be non-permanent memories or permanent memories. The programs stored in the storage media 530 may include one or more modules (not shown), each of which may include a series of operation instructions in the server. Further, the central processing units 522 may be configured to communicate with the storage media 530, and execute, on the server 500, a series of operation instructions in the storage media 530. The server 500 may further include one or more power supplies 526, one or more wired or wireless network interfaces 550, one or more input/output interfaces 558, and/or one or more operating systems 541, for example, Windows SeverTM, Mac OS XTM, UnixTM, LinuxTM, FreeBSDTM, etc. The steps, described in the embodiments as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 and executed by a server, may be implemented based on the server structure as shown in Fig. 5.
A person of ordinary skill in the art may understand that all or some of the steps in the foregoing embodiments may be implemented by hardware or a program related hardware. The program may be stored in a computer readable storage medium. The computer readable storage medium may be a read-only memory, a magnetic disk, an optical disk, etc.
The foregoing descriptions are merely preferred embodiments of the application, and are not intended to limit the application. Any modification, equivalent substitution and improvement made within the spirit and principle of the invention shall fall into the protection scope of the invention.

Claims

What is claimed is:
1. A method for keyword search, wherein the method comprises:
receiving a translation instruction carrying information regarding a target language and a keyword from a terminal;
translating the keyword into the target language to obtain a translation of the keyword;
providing the translation of the keyword to the terminal; and
searching the translation when a search instruction for the translation is received from the terminal.
2. The method according to claim 1, wherein translating the keyword into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword comprises:
identifying a source language of the keyword, and translating, based on syntax rules of the source language of the keyword and the target language, the keyword to obtain the translation of the keyword; or
when the translation instruction further comprises a source language of the keyword, translating, based on syntax rules of the source language and the target language, the keyword to obtain the translation of the keyword.
3. The method according to claim 1, wherein providing the translation of the keyword to a terminal comprises:
sending the translation of the keyword and a display position for the translation to the terminal so that the translation is displayed at the display position in the terminal.
4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the method further comprises: providing the terminal with an operation option for translating the keyword, a setup option for the target language, and an operation option for translating the keyword into the target language.
5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the method further comprises: providing the terminal with an operation option for translating the keyword, a setup option for a source language of the keyword and the target language, and an operation option for translating the keyword from the source language into the target language.
6. A device for keyword search, wherein the device comprises:
a receiving module configured to receive a translation instruction at least carrying information regarding a target language and a keyword from a terminal; a translating module configured to translate the keyword into the target language to obtain the translation of the keyword;
a translation providing module configured to provide the translation of the keyword to the terminal; and
a searching module configured to search the translation when a search instruction for the translation is received from the terminal.
7. The device according to claim 6, wherein the translating module comprises: a first translating unit configured to identify a source language of the keyword, and translate, based on syntax rules of the source language and the target language, the keyword to obtain the translation of the keyword; or
a second translating unit configured to, when the translation instruction further comprises a source language of the keyword, translate, based on syntax rules of the source language and the target language, the keyword to obtain the translation of the keyword.
8. The device according to claim 6, wherein the device further comprises:
a sending module configured to send the translation of the keyword and a display position for the translation to the terminal so that the translation is displayed at the display position in the terminal.
9. The device according to claim 6, wherein the device further comprises:
a first option providing module configured to provide the terminal with an operation option for translating the keyword, a setup option for the target language, and an operation option for translating the keyword into the target language.
10. The device according to claim 6, wherein the device further comprises:
a second option providing module configured to provide the terminal with an operation option for translating the keyword, a setup option for a source language of the translation and the target language, and an operation option for translating the keyword from the source language into the target language.
11. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising an executable program for executing the method according to any of claims 1-6.
12. A system, comprising:
a processor; and
a memory storing computer executable program, wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer executable program to cause the system to: receive a translation instruction comprising a target language and a keyword from a terminal;
translate the keyword into the target language to obtain a translation of the keyword;
provide the translation of the keyword to the terminal; and
search the translation when a search instruction for the translation is received from the terminal.
