Abstract

The invention relates to a method for testing an overspeed protection device of a single-shaft system (1) having a gas turbine (2) and a steam turbine (3), said method having the steps of: a) providing a first speed-measuring device for measuring the speed of the steam turbine (3), the first speed-measuring device having at least one marking on the shaft (6) of the single-shaft system (1) and having a stationary scanning device by means of which the at least one marking can be detected when the marking is moved past the scanning device; b) increasing the number of markings of the first speed-measuring device, whereby the speed measured by means of the first speed-measuring device is higher than the actual speed; c) increasing the mass flow of the steam introduced into the steam turbine (3) and/or of the fuel introduced into the gas turbine (2) in such a way that the measured speed of the steam turbine (3) reaches a steam turbine threshold value speed, the overspeed protection device being designed in such a way that a first overspeed protection is triggered as soon as the measured speed of the steam turbine (3) reaches the steam turbine threshold value speed; d) checking whether the first overspeed protection has been triggered.
