Abstract
A system is described for authenticating and sharing characteristics of a purchased product (goods or services), comprising at least one means for univocally authenticating at least one product whose authenticity has to be verified, said means being equipped with at least one anti- counterfeiting code univocally associated with the purchased product; processing means comprising at least one data base storing the anti-counterfeiting code in association with the product; means for querying the data base to verify the presence of the anti-counterfeiting code inside the data base and sending at least one message to a user with the verification result; at least one social networking web platform adapted to publish on a user profile the characteristics of the purchased product with authenticity verified by the processing means. A process for authenticating and sharing characteristics of a purchased product is also described.
Description
SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR AUTHENTICATING AND SHARING PRODUCTS, SUCH AS GOODS AND/OR SERVICES
. The present invention refers to a system for authenticating and sharing characteristics of a purchased product, such as goods or services, and to a related authenticating and sharing process.
Identification systems are known in the art, and are applied onto products, together with systems for verifying the products' authenticity, such as, for example: hologram codes, Quick Response (QR) codes, microchips, numbered labels, etc. The process for verifying the authenticity of a product usually occurs through the use of a dedicated software, with the insertion of a code by a user, such code being univocally associated with the marked product, on the portal of the company producing the relevant system. These systems however are not satisfactory, both because the removal of the identification system can damage the _p.rad.uc-t i-ksel-f7 a-n-d—H_recaxrs¾ trie Us'erT before performing the authentication operation for the
product on the dedicated site, must record his own personal data, and because such identification systems can satisfy the request for authenticating the purchase of material products, but are adapted with difficulty to the purchase of services.
Moreover, the operation of verifying the product authenticity, on the dedicated portal of the company producing the system, sometimes allows sharing the performed purchase, but only on the portal of the company producing the system itself.
Therefore, object of the present invention is providing a system for identifying a product, such as goods or services, and the related process for authenticating and sharing the performed purcase, that allows the customer to verify the authenticity of the purchased product and to share its purchase on a multimedia platform.
The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will appear from the following description, are obtained by an identification system and its authentication and sharing process, as described in the respective independent claims. Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variations of he—p-T-es -n-t—in-ve-ntic>rr-are~ the subject matter of the dependent claims.
It is intended that all enclosed claims are an integral part of the present description.
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof, provided as a non-limiting example, with reference to the single enclosed drawing, in which Figure 1 shows a flow diagram of a preferred embodiment of the process for authenticating and sharing according to the present invention.
With reference to the Figures, a preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown and described. It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) can be made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention, as appears from the enclosed claims.
The system according to the present invention substantially comprises:
at least one means for univocally authenticating at least one product, such as goods or services, whose authenticity can be verified, such means being equipped with at least one anti- eoun-feer-fe-iting code univocally associated, for example by the manufacturer or the seller, with
such purchased product;
processing means comprising at least one data base storing such anti-counterfeiting code in association with such product;
- means for querying, such as for example a
Personal Computer, PC, a smart-phone, a tablet, etc., such data base, for example through a web environment, such means for querying being adapted to verify the presence of such anti-counterfeiting code inside such data base and to send at least one message to the user with the result of , such verification;
at least one social networking web platform, such as for example Twitter®, Facebook®, etc., adapted to publish, on a profile of such user, the characteristics of such product, purchased and with verified authenticity by such processing means.
Obviously, such processing means can comprise any database management system, such as for example Oracle® or Sybase®, that allows creating by an administrator, and querying by one or more users, at least the data base of anti-couterfeiting codes.
Preferably, such authenticating means are made as—at l~eas~t one card (not shown) , preferably made of paper, plastic or other suitable material,
equipped with at least one of such anti- counterfeiting codes.
With particular reference to Figure 1, it is possible to note that the process according to -the present invention, for example implemented through a system according to the present invention like the previously described one, comprises the steps of:
providing at least one anti-counterfeiting code univocally associated with a purchased product whose authenticity must be verified;
storing such anti-counterfeiting code in at least one of such data bases 1;
providing at least one authenticating means according to the present invention associated with such product, such authenticating means being equipped with at least one of such anti- counterfeiting codes univocally associated with such product ;
- sending 2 such anti-counterfeiting code, for example through querying means by exploiting a. web environment, to processing means adapted to verify 3 the presence di such anti-counterfeiting code Ln.side—s-u-e-h—data-"baseTT;
sending to such user, for example, through video display, phone call, email, SMS, etc., through the web environment, at least one message with the result of such verification: if the verification has a negative result 5, and therefore the anti-counterfeiting code associated with the purchased product is not present in the data base 1, such step comprises the sub-step of ending the process 6; alternatively, if the verification has a positive result, and therefore the anti- counterfeiting code associated with the purchased product is present in the data base 1, such step is followed by the step of finding 7 information related to such purchased product, for example stored in the same data base in association with the related anti-counterfeiting code, and the sub- step of sending to the user 8 such information, such as for example at least one photographic reproduction of the product, and/or at least one detailed description of such product and, possibly, at least one warning communication for the performed authentic purchase. Obviously, such information can be sent to the user through the -mQ-s½-eommOn^sys'teTns"lm3 n^ in the art, such as, for example, displaying on a video, email, SMS, MMS,
etc. : for such purpose, it is possible to provide that the user performs a preliminary recording in such a way as to have available data to contact such user and send such information;
requesting 9 to such user if he wants to publish, on an active profile thereof in at least one social networking web platform, such as for example Twitter®, Facebook®, ecc..., at least one notification, or other warning system, related to the purchase of such product: if the answer is negative, such step is followed by the step of ending 6 the process without any publication on such social network while, if the answer is positive, such step is followed by the step of providing 10 by the user at least identification data of said active profile thereof related to at least one of such social networks and the step of sending 11 to at least one of such social networks information about the purchased product and publishing such information on such profile of such user of such social network.
Possibly, the process according to the present invention can further comprise the step of storing -1-1—i-n-to—a—data"-Base 1 information related to such user, . avoiding to re-enter its identification data
for possible following authentication procedures of new purchased products or services.
Possibly, the process according to the present invention can further comprise the step of requesting 12 to the user whether the authenticated product is a gift received by at least one person that falls within his contacts of at least one of his active social networks: if such request has a negative response, the process can for example comprise the step of confirming 15 the certainty of the negative response to the request in the previous step, and if the reply is affirmative, such step is followed by the step of ending 6 the process; if the reply instead is positive, such step is followed by the step of selecting 16, by the user, at least one person that falls within his contacts of such active social network responsible for the authentic product or service given to the, user as gift, and the step of sending 17 to such contact at least one request of publication of the authentic purchase performed by the contact, on the contact profile.
It is wholly clear that the present invention Jurt.iie.r—re-f-e-r-s—t-o—a COmputer program comprising computer program code means adapted to perform all
or parts of the steps of the above mentioned process when such program is run on a. computer.
As previously described, the system and the process according to the present invention allow to:
guarantee identification and authenticity both of a purchased good and of a purchased service;
simplify the authentication operation of the products, being goods or services, without performing any registration of personal customer data on the web portal of the company producing the system;
guarantee the product integrity, since the authenticating means are a card not directly fastened onto the goods or services.;
allow sharing the performed purchase on all existing social networks, increasing the product visibility, and the easy access to technical product information, allowing, where possible, to purchase it on line. Sharing of purchasing information guarantees incomes for manufacturing companies, . since it accelerates the process of knowing and purchasing a product, due to the mass
"S'ooialisation principle, on which social networks are based -whose impact is of major importance in
influencing consumers' decisions. Moreover, the company has access to very many information, useful to customise its site and its offer for users;
allow the users, belonging to any social status, to satisfy their desire to share the performed purchase with their virtual community, becoming involuntary testimonials of goods or services.
Claims
1. System for authenticating and sharing characteristics of a purchased product, namely goods or services, characterised in that it comprises:
at least one means for univocally authenticating at least one of said products whose authenticity must be verified, said means being equipped with at least one anti-counterfeiting code univocally associated with said purchased product; processing means comprising at least one data base storing said anti-counterfeiting code in association with said product;
means for querying said data base to verify a presence of said anti-counterfeiting code inside said data base and sending at least one message to a user with a result of said verification;
at least one social networking web platform adapted to publish, on a profile of said user, characteristics of said purchased product and with authenticity verified by said processing means.
2. System according to claim 1, characterised in that said authenticating means are at least one
—card equipped wTth atT least one of said anti- counterfeiting codes.
3. Process for authenticating and sharing characteristics of a purchased product, namely goods or services, through a system comprising at least one means for univocally authenticating at least one of said products whose authenticity must be verified, said means being equipped with at least one anti-counterfeiting code univocally associated with said purchased product, processing means comprising at least one data base storing said anti-counterfeiting code in association with said product, means for querying said data base to verify a presence of said anti-counterfeiting code inside said data base and sending at least one message to a user with a result of said verification and at least one social networking web platform, adapted to publish on a profile of said user, characteristics of said purchased product and with its authenticity verified by said processing means, characterised in that it comprises the steps of:
providing at least one of said anti- counterfeiting codes univocally associated with one purchased product whose authenticity must be -ve-r-i-f-i-e-d-;- storing said anti-counterfeiting code into at
least one data base (1) ;
providing at least one of said authenticating means associated with said product, said authenticating means being equipped with at least one anti-counterfeiting code univocally associated with said product;
sending (2) said anti-counterfeiting code to said processing means adapted to verify (3) a presence of said anti-counterfeiting code inside said data base (1) ;
sending to said user at least one message with the result of said verification;
if said verification has a positive result, finding (7) information related to said purchased product and sending to said user (8) said information and at least one warning communication for the performed authentic purchase;
requesting (9) to said user if he wants to publish, on an active profile thereof of at least one social networking web platform, at least one notification related to said purchase of said product;
if said request has a positive result, iToVidinq (TO) by said user at least identification
data of its active profile related t.o at least one social network and sending (11) to at least said social network at least information about the purchased product, and publishing said information on such profile of said user of said social network .
4. Process according to the previous claim, characterised in that it comprises the step of reguesting (12) to said user whether said authenticated product is a gift received from at least one person falling within his contacts of at least one of his active profiles of said active social network, and if such request has a positive reply, the step of selecting (16), by said user, at least said contact and the step of sending (17) to said contact at least one request for publishing the authentic purchase performed by said contact on the profile of said contact.
5. Computer program comprising computer program code means adapted to perform the steps of the process according to claim 3 or 4 when such programma is run on a computer.
6. Computer program according to claim 5 and -con-ta-i-n-ed—on—a-cOTnpTTteT~-:readable media .
