Abstract

The invention is a method for monitoring and/or controlling process parameters of a batch or continuous pharmaceutical production process in a pharmaceutical product processing system, such as a continuous feeder or a granulator, the method comprising the steps of providing a pharmaceutical product processing system (1), providing said pharmaceutical product processing system (1) with a control system (2), measuring a time domain signal obtained from said pharmaceutical product processing system (1), Fourier transforming said time domain signal to obtain a frequency domain signal, analyzing said frequency domain signal by means of said control system (2) to obtain frequency domain data indicative of variations in one or more of said process parameters, and evaluating said one or more process parameters based on said frequency domain data. Likewise the invention may relate to a pharmaceutical product processing system (1) adapted for carrying out such a method.
