Abstract

A label peeling device includes a sticker label roll (1), a label peeling system (2), a guide roller (8), a base support plate (9), and a label presence/absence check sensor (7). The label peeling system (2) receives a signal from a label sensor (6), which sends the trigger signal to a pneumatic cylinder (3) connected with a lever (4). The label roll path is supported by two guide rollers (8) on one side, and the base support plate (9) is provided on the other side thereof. The label presence/absence check sensor (7) is disposed behind the label peeling system (2). Hence, it is easy to detect and peel the rejected label from the label roll path during online operation.

Description

LABEL PEELING DEVICE
Field of Invention
The present invention device is based on usage of various types of Labelling Machine or Labeller or Label Applicator Machines used by many packaging industries such as Pharmaceutical, Foods, Beverages, Liquor, Agro Chemicals, Pesticides and Cosmetics. This device is useful on any Sticker / Self-Adhesive Labelling Machine which is used the Sticker/Self-Adhesive Labels in Roll Form. Suitability of the device for an of the industries mentioned above for PEELING of Wrong Label from the Label Roll during the Labeling Machine / Applicator operation.
Background of the Invention:
Presently most of the companies, particularly in Pharmaceutical Industries use Sticker Labelling Machine to apply Sticker/Self- Adhesive Labels on their Ampoule, Vials, Bottles or Jars are require to ensure the packing of Finished product is foolproof & without any type of rejection/errors on labels. All products having Labelling application are required to maintain stringent norms/system to detect and remove rejected products from line during Labelling process. Any product which require to apply label need the machine, require checking the Labels before application onto the products during online labelling operation, Moreover during the process it is mandatory requirement to print many essential details like Batch No., Price, Manufacturing Date, Expiry Date etc. using various type of online coding system to give the information with each and every products labeled Considering the whole process of labelling of products, it is possible to have a wrong label within sticker label roll or the label having any error or any print mistake which happens during the process of manufacturing/printing of labels. Moreover it is also possible that the information printed on labels might consist any error of missing/smudging of character or line during the online labelling operation which is treated as a rejected labels.
The roll label may have following defects:
1. Improper Colour / Colour Fading happened due any issue at the time of Label Printing at suppliers/printers end.
2. Missing of any code or wrong code related to product found improper or not legible.
3. Different product label found with the label roll, as many Label Supplier use the online Label Inspection system to check defect on Labels but since they use manual method or system to replace the defective label with correct label, now in this case many companies use same design/artwork/size for their labels except few change in Label Design, Colour scheme or text and due to this there are chances that during the inspection of label roll at suppliers end operator may replace the defective label in roll with similar type/size label but for different products.
Labels also comes with Pre-Printed Barcode, Pharmacode or 2D Matrix code which is also reason for the rejection of label as in few cases the quality/density of printed code found improper or not sufficient to check online by various type of Decoder / Reader or Vision/Camera systems.
As a practice and as per the norms details like Batch Number, Price, Expiry Date, Manufacturing Date etc. need be printed on Labels during online process of Labelling / Label application and people are using various type of Online Coding System to print require detail on Labels. The coding system used by the companies are Contact type coding or Non-Contact type coding and few of them are Hot Foil Coder, Hot Ink Roll Coder, Thermal Transfer Coder, Thermal Direct Coder, Inkjet Coder, Continuous Inkjet Coder and variety of other coding system. It is always possible that the detail required to be printed on Label may have some error / smudging during printing / missing Line during printing / Missing Character(s) / Fading / hazy / light image of coding and due to this the label could be considered as a rejected labels.
6. During the online process it is possible that the label is correct but the Details printed on labels using online coding system may not be proper or incomplete and in such cases the label are considered as rejected labels.
Considering the above various factor of Wrong / Improper Labels, for application of same on finished products such as Ampoules, Vials, Bottles, Containers, Jars. Companies are using various method to prevent the application of rejected Label on products by using Various system such as Barcode / Pharmacode / 2D Matrix code reader OR Vision/Camera system to produce/pack the product having Label without any error/defect.
By Using above type or code Reader or Vision System which require to fix on Labelling Machine and operated during the online application and act as per the required method or procedure supplied/applied to the labelling machine / applicators. In case if Code Reader or Vision/Camera System detecting the improper/Wrong label as per the required parameters set by user it will electronically give Trigger/Produce the Signal based on which the Machine stops immediately and give indication by Flashing Light / Red Light or Alarm and indicate to the user about the wrong label found in roll during the labelling procedure, thus operator can remove the label from roll and complete the further procedure related to rejected label as per the norms/parameters set by their company system and restart the machine. However, in this case the stoppage of machine and intervention of operator/person, the overall production get hindered, which results in output loss which finally effect the total production/profitability of company. Moreover in such cases there is a chance of mistake by operator to remove the rejected label from the roll and in this case there is no further chance to stop the product or to check the product for proceeding further for packing process, however few companies use manual inspection system to check all products individually which costs them very high with very low output rate.
Now, considering the above situation and due to further development in machine application many Labelling Machine offered in the market having online product ejection system which is giving advantage over the situation where machine needs to be stopped and remove the label manually by operator. With this new rejection system application when Code Reader or Vision/Camera system when find/detect Wrong/Improper Labels it will produce the Trigger/Signal which is immediately transferred to the control system of labelling machine and in turn labelling machine control system produce/give signal to the Mechanical / Electro Mechanical/ Pneumatic rejection system provided on Labelling Machine to eject the product. In this case Labelling machine does not stop but apply the rejected label on product and after application of rejected label again it remove/eject the product from line to prevent it moving further to packaging process. This system eliminate frequent stoppage of labelling machine and increase the overall output of the machine.
However, in case of above online rejection system, there is a chance of human error or by any mistake of system provided on machine it is possible that the rejection system may eject/remove the wrong product and also there is a chance that by mistake of any user / operator if the rejected product mix-up with the finished products then it is very difficult to identify the product having wrong labels as the companies using automatic machines, produces very high quantity of finish products. Considering the various situation following are the possibility that the rejected product mix-up with Finished products.
1. Rejection System stops working without knowledge of machine operator
2. Rejection system does not work at required time 3. Rejection system fail to operate due to any Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical malfunction.
4. Due to any Human error rejected product may mix-up with finished product
- 5. Any error/malfunction of signal from Labelling control system to rejection system.
Considering the above situation it is possible that even by using stringent norms/procedure and various System such as Vision System / Coder Reader / Rejection system, rejected product may go further or mix up with Finished products.
Object of Invention:
The purpose of present invention is used to over come above stated various problems faced by user of currently available label peeling machine for preventing the Wrong Label/Label with any error applied and going with the finished products.
In the present invention REMOVING/PREELING OFF the Label from Label Roll during online Labelling operation once the Vision/Code reader or other system provided on labelling machine detect the label in roll as a rejected label, the LabeLPEEL device get activated and immediately remove the rejected label from the Label Roll during online operation. Removal of rejected label from the Sticker Label Roll ensure that there is no application of rejected label on product and hence no need to eject the product with rejected label. Moreover this system gives more comfort and safety to the products as it is very easy to identify the product without any Label as compare to product with wrong/rejected labels. Due to removal of Rejected label from roll there is no possibility of application of label on product and in this case product moves further without the labels and its very easy to detect the product without any label hence the rejection system provided on machine easily eject the product from line. Secondly, it is very easy to identify the product without label even if mixed up with finished product having label applied on it.

As shown in Fig.l, in the present invention wrong label peeling device when the Label Roll (1) in movement direction (2) during Labelling operation and LabelPEEL system(3) receive signal from label sensor (6) which is connected with such as Vision/Camera System / Barcode reader / Pharmacode reader or 2D Matrix code reader about the rejection of any defective label in roll(l), as shown in Fig.2, which send the trigger signal to the pneumatic cylinder of magnetic coil (3), which is connected with the lever (4) to touch the label pickup roller (5) with label roll path, where the pick up roller 5) is free spinning roller having double side adhesive type on it so, when the pick up roller (5) touch to the rejected label starting edge and due to the movement of label roll
(1), the pick up roller (5) also rotates and wrap the rejected label on it. In the Labeling system or LabelPeel System, when the pick up roller (5) touch the edge of path label roll (1) , two guide rollers (8) are provided both side of the label pick up roller (5) to guide the label roll (1) before labeling or labelpeel system. Label roll (1) is passed between the base support plate (9) and two guide roller(8). After Labelpeel system, when the label roller pass forward for the labeling on the product, before that as shown in Fig.l label presence /absence check sensor (7) is provided in the present invention for the zero error method LabelPeel system 2) get activated to peel defective rejected label from the label roll 1) by using the mechanism provided as shown in Fig 3., the rejection system having pickup roller 5) which is free on it, so when the roller 5) touch to the rejected label starting edge and due to the movement of label roll 1), the pick up roller (5) also rotates and wrap the rejected label on it. Then as shown in Fig.4, when the device finish the wrapping of rejected label on roller due to the force of label movement and free spinning movement of Label Pickup Roller(5), now the outer surface of rejected label (4) having adhesive helps the Label Pickup Roller to remove the next rejected label from roll. The label peel device in standby position is shown in Fig.5 and the side view of wrong label peel device is shown in Fig.6. Fig.2 to 6 show the movement of rejected label of label pick up roller (5). The Fig.7 show the side view of the label peeling off position to the labelpeel system and Fig.8 show the side view of the lebelpeeling on position.

Claim
LABELPEELdevice consists with sticker label roll (1), labelpeel system (2), guide roller (8), base support plate (9), label presence/ absence check sensor (7) wherein
Sticker label roll (1) moves the label roll movement in the direction during labeling operation,
LabelPEEL system
(2) receive signal from label sensor 6) and which send the trigger signal to the penematic cylinder or magnetic coil
(3), which is connected with the lever (4) to touch the label pickup roller (5) with the label roll path , base support plate (9) is provided to label roll path from one side and from the other side the label roll path supported by two guide roller (8),
label presence and absence check up sensor (7) is provided after the labelepeel system.
LABELPEEL device as claimed in claim 1 wherein the pickup roller (5) which is free spinning roller having double sided adhesive tape on it.
LABELPEEL device as claimed in claim 1 wherein the pickup roller (5) touch to the rejected label starting edge and due to the movement of label roll 1), the pickup roller 5) also rotates and wrap the rejected label on pickup roller (5).
4. LABELPEEL device as claimed in claim 1 wherein LABELPEEL device (2) finish the wrapping of rejected label on roller due to the force of label movement and free spinning movement of LABEL pickup roller (5).
LABELPEEL device as claimed in claim 1 wherein the outer surface of rejected label having adhesive the label pickup roller (5) to remove the next rejected label from roll (1).
