Abstract

A Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge for a Dust Collector includes a top snap ring (1) for resting onto the tubesheet of a Dust Collector, a self-disc round base (2) at the closed end to seal off the base, and vertical reinforced strapes (3) and several interval spaced cuff rings (4) attached on each end of the Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge. These reinforced strapes (3) and cuff rings (4) may be in the form of a peripheral frame supporting the pleats of the Filter Element/Cartridge from oversize ballooning.

Description

PLEATED FILTER ELEMENT / CARTRIDGE
Technical Field
This present invention relates to a Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge assembly to enable the Pleated Element/Cartridge for mounting onto the tubesheet (6) of the Dust Collector for tight fitting and leak proof. The invention is particularly adapted to enable the Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge to be disposed over a different range of diameter and surface area. Two particular features of the present invention, while the invention is not exclusively limited thereto, is that of a top snap-ring (1) assembly which configure especially for easy to snap-in especially adapted for mounting and tight fitting. Another particular feature of the present invention, while the invention is not exclusively limited thereto, is that the pleats (5) assembly provides a relatively larger surface area. Background of the invention
One known form of Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge is configured to provide different size mounting and high surface area. Such Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge do permits adjustment of diameter and surface area to make the Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge somewhat more easy access for mounting and longer life span.
Disclosure of Invention
Firstly, the present invention aims to provide a useful alternative mounting/fitting of the Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge to conventional filter cartridges used for filtering of dust in a Dust Collector or other known dust separation equipment.
This invention resides broadly in the top snap ring (1) provided with releasable mounting means during installation and dismantling of filter bags.
The known top snap ring (1) described above requires a snap bond (7) ri vetted in round circular shape of different diameter, applicable for different tubesheet (6) hole diameter and thickness. The known top snap ring (1) also comprise of a groove tape (8) made of fabric or rubber, being taped onto the snap ring circumference. The snap ring and groove tape are enclosed by a fabric cover (9) to give the finishing parts of the top snap ring (1). Secondly, the present invention aims to provide a useful alternative surface area to conventional Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge used for filtering of dust in a Dust Collector or other known dust separation equipment.
This invention resides broadly in the pleats (5) provided with variable pleat depth and quantity during sizing of a dust bag to provide variable surface area.
The known pleats (5) described above require pleating machine to configure the pleats and set at different pleat depth in a corrugated sheet. Ultrasonic heat seal is required to seal both edges during configuration of the Pleated Element/Cartridge in a turbular shape.

In order that the invention may be more fully understood, and put into practical effect, one preferred example of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which;
Figure 1 is a front perspective view of a Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge constructed in accordance with the invention
Figure 2 illustrates the snap-in perspective view of the top of Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge when mounted to a tubesheet of the dust collector.
Figure 3 is a bottom perspective view of a Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge

Claims

1. A Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge assembly comprise: top snap ring (1) for mounting, providing support of the Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge from dropping and effectively act as a good seal to prevent dust leakage.
2. The Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge as claimed in claim (5) provides high surface area wherein the pleats can be configure in different pleat depth and different number of pleats.
3. Reinforced four nos strapes (3) and cuff rings (4) assembly, which is flexible from an inoperative to an operative position during pulsing and cleaning operation.
4. The Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge assembly as claimed in any one of the preceding claims wherein the Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge assembly is provided with a base which is the closure of the Pleated Filter Element/Cartridge.
